I strongly resisted the Temptation to Re join Yesterday

Wanted to give them a piece of my mind relating to the
Gaganshakti Exercsie 10 Thousand Sorties thread

When I feel the Urge to rejoin ; I only look at the Stray dogs on my street
and say to myself that these dogs are Better than PDF Pakistanis

Stray dogs are super loyal super intelligent and super tough.

Above all, they are Indians.

These were NOT just Offensive Sorties

It looks like you have NO idea about Air Exercises

You should read about Red Flag ; Indradhanush and Garuda exercises of IAF with US ; UK; France

There are Two forces ; Red Land ; Blue Land

that is Offensive and Defensive forces

What they are stimulating is How PAF and PLAAF will Attack and Defend against IAF

In any case you have to Take OFF ie conduct a sortie ; whether you are on a Defensive or Offensive mission

What matters MOST is the Sortie Generation Rate to overwhelm the Enemy
Both on the Air and on the Ground

That is why the Pakistanis are reacting in Disbelief on this 10 K Figure

What this means is that PAF would be routed in Four Days

In fact less than that if you factor in the attrition on both sides and lack of spares for PAF. If IAF can sustain about 5k sorties on first day of the war, PF will cease to exist as any kind of force to counter IAF and Indian Strike columns built up around IBGs from making deep in roads in Pakistan and dashing to Indus river front as the final frontier of India. Once we establish air superiority, Pak TNWs will explode within their own territory by being knocked out by hunter killers of IAF.
We have five sqns of Jags primed to just take out every bridge across Indus in Pakistan, destroy every rail head and staging area for loading tanks for forward movement to the border, every fuel dump and storage area of ammo of the war and also shoot down every transport aircraft of PAF within 12 hrs of the start of war with no fear of attrition to ensure they are unable to mobilise troops from anywhere to Indian Front. A fighter pilot is trained to rise up to the occasion like a Special Ops commando and we do not bother for what is thrown at us in real case. We just press in with our attack and that includes ramming the aircraft in to the target.
Mrityu ek naye jivan ka aarambh hoti hai. Har jivan main har baar, sirf Hindustan.

If you don't mind me asking, back when you were a trainee, and later a pilot, what sort of contingency were they primarily preparing you for? What did they envision to be the role of the Indian Navy's fighter component in a conflict during your time of service?

I'm purely interested from a military history perspective, but if it's somehow a sensitive matter, then it's okay, you can simply say so.
