The very first sentence of the image has a grammatical mistake: "Pakistan's strike in India," is incorrect in this context. It should be "Pakistan's strike on India," or "Pakistan's strike against India,".

S-500 is BMD. Its primary missile components consist of an endo and exo-atmospheric interceptors along with a 40N6M. It's in direct competition with DRDO's Phase 2/3 BMD programs. But S-550 otoh can be an option. It's specifically meant to stop ICBMs and we don't have a rival program for it.
Russia's only offered the R-37M, the IAF has not shown interest in it. Indigenization is the main agenda for any system that requires deep integration. That's why we want our own weapons on Rafale.

S-500/550 most definitely but R-37M with crappy Russian seeker won't cut it for us. We need to put enlarged version of Ku-Band AESA seeker that we've developed for Astra/VL-SRSAM series. So R-37MKI should be the way to go.
