There are two separate programs for the COMJAM/SIGINT and ECM roles under DRDO. The COMJAM/SIGINT will be based on A319 and ECM will be based on Global 6000.
No, it's thanks to their foolishness. It was already said back in 2019 on this very forum that the PAF will have to now invest a lot in new EW assets because a lot of their existing systems have been compromised.
They are working quickly out of desperation. They effed up big time and are now paying the price. Good for them though.
PAF's new EW jet will not be ready anytime before 2026. What's been delivered is only the platform, the work on it is still pending. 2026 is the earliest Turkish delivery date for themselves, not counting potential delays, so it could be as long as 2027 or 2028 for the PAF.
Do we have or planning to have similar EW capabilities? We were handicapped during 2019 on EW sector, now PAF is upgrading things and we still sleeping.
We have top notch EW capability.
Gaps in some sectors persist. But our EW is kind of overkill for them.
Army has more than enough ground based assets. They can pretty much jam the Swedish AEWs of PAF from ground itself. In case IAF is not able to respond, Army alone can handle EW more or less.
The AEWS is having scanning radius of 300+ range, will land based jammers can jamm it effectively all the time? No. Also land based one cannot move asper mission requirment like an air based EW aircraft.
They have a good enough range where the SAABs will not be able to effectively scan inside our territory/air space.
The downside, it will also interrupt our own AEWCS also.
And a range of how many dozen of kilometers?

However as the above poster points out, the configuration is not an operational configuration, but a ground test setup. The technicians are probably checking weapon aircraft communication . Another picture of same aircraft shows technician at the front, doing something.
The two glide bombs are for ground attack, while the EW POD and 4x BVR are for air defence.
Those missions are flown separately, not in mixed configuration.
