What other options do Chinese have? Their own enigiens have even poorer reliability and no western jet engine is available to them for fighters.
They can't afford all twin engine fleet. That's why j10 and jf17 fly with single Russian engine and that's why they keep crashing regularly.
It is also the reason why china have to field 400-500 j10 because only half of them will be available for war at a given time.
Actually, if that is the case, it explains why ALL flights of Chinese airforce are so tightly controlled.
That is exactly the case. We have the same engine in su30mki and cag is full of reports of how problematic Russian engine can be. That's why we have struggled to maintain high availability of su30 even when its twin engine make it more reliable than j10 /jf17.
One could only infer what the Chinese headache is with single al31 on j10 .
And this plane is their backbone...
May be, just may be, we should induct as many LCA as possible. Also get our hands one few AIMs. I wish we had gone with a Italian or French radar, customized to our needs and integrated with european missiles.
Derby ER will come with mk1a which is better than anything but meteor. But meteor is way too costly. Even french don't use meteor alone but in combo with mica. Derby ER + Astra will be a deadly combo and elta 2052 is on par with European radars. Ultimately sfdr is coming with mwf.
Mwf will have high numbers as IAF wants range as much as mirage or better from here on. That's why lca mk1a will be only 123.
Don't see why not? It's an Israeli radar afterall. But there is no necessity. Astra mk1 it self is better than aim120c5 and derby ER / Astra mk2 will be almost equivalent to aim120d . So no need for amraam integration.
It is part of nasam air defense system which we are going to buy.
I will be amazed that after indicting mk1a,mwf,rafale ,super sukhoi what fake superiority will porkis have with their 3.5 gen jf17 and older f16. what lame strategy they will make to satisfy their fake ego.
