The PDV seems to have slimmed down a lot or is it just the model? Is there a Mk2 in the works? @marich01

If that is to scale, then we could say it's longer than PL-15's 4 m versus Mk1's 3.8 m. It's difficult to say whether the diameter is the same at Mk1's 180 mm or PL-15's 200 mm. Overall, more juice than PL-15.

Saw the Mk2 on a MiG-29K and it *seems* to be somewhat bigger/fatter than Mk1, drawing from memory:

PDV mk2 is the ASAT. This is general upgraded pdv perhaps, that features the improved DACS mk2.

178mm vs 190mm , very miniscule difference in dia between the 2 versions.
Yours truly predicted it years ago;) @marich01

Project Kusha, the long-range surface-to-air air defence missile system which can strike aerial targets at around 400 Km, showcased at the AERO India
air show in Bengaluru.
The missile will be developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in partnership with the private sector firm Solar Industries and Bharat Dynamics Limited.

Ultimately we need to see the real ones side by side. We can't go by these silly models.

That was actually a fake name for the ASAT.

Perhaps this variant is being designed to fit ship-based VLS for BMD cued by LRMFR.
initially I thought the 3 variants they planned for, were for IN IAF and IAC specific because that was how the project seemed to be panning out, 3 user scenario sort of. Original XRSAM was of ERSAM and XRSAM 2 variants after LRSAM/barak 8. Then they went step ahead. Hopefully they can pull it off, some design config changes have happened so far. Who knows what the final version would look like. Next Aero show/Def expo probably M2 will be revealed then M3.

A dedicated ship based bmd will happen but can take long time.

so what happened to the small fins in the rear section of the booster as seen in the mfd monitor image and images we have, but not seen on the model ?

1. Originally, Kusha was known as XRSAM and was supposed to have a range of 250km.
2. Later DRDO modified the system and now Kusha was supposed to have two missiles i.e. ERSAM with 150km range and XRSAM with 350km range. The whole system was dubbed as ERADS or Extended Range Air Defence System.
3. The Kusha system was given a new programme name i.e. PGLRSAM which stands for Programme Long Range Surface to Air Missile. It was now supposed to have three missiles.
4. The three missiles were known as M1, M2 and M3. The M1 missile was expected to have a range of 80km and it was not supposed to have any external booster attached to it.
5. The M1 missile was very similar in looks and performance to Akash-NG.
6. The M1 missile was to fill the role of Kill Vehicle for M2 and M3 missiles having ranges 250km and 350km respectively.
7. M2 and M3 missiles were shown to have big boosters attached to it for achieving the expected ranges.
8. Now, in the latest iteration: all the three missiles i.e. M1, M2 and M3 are going to have an external booster attached to them. M1, M2 and M3 will have ranges of 150km, 250km and 350km respectively.
