Sports in India : News and Debates

I am not sure how the weight lifting rules work but this is what the article says :
The 140kg will be for the snatch and the 166kg will be clean and jerk. The picture probably shows one of his earlier clean and jerk lifts.

With its sparkling show through 2019, India finished the year as the top shooting nation in the world, leaving behind Olympic heavyweights China and the USA.

In terms of overall medals, the tally stood at 21 gold, six silver and three bronze as India topped all the Rifle-Pistol World Cups and Finals in a unforgettable year. While India leads the standings with 30 medals overall, China is second with 11 gold, 15 silver and 18 bronze for a total of 44 podium finishes. The USA is placed third with 15 medals including six gold six silver and three bronze.

The number of Olympic quotas, which now stands at a record 15, is not a only refection of the country's rapid rise in the sport over the last one year but also sets up the shooters nicely for a record haul at the Tokyo Games, after the meltdown at Rio de Janeiro. Indian shooting's best show at the Olympics remains the two medals won at London in 2012.

Posting it here since this course is related to fitness
Hey guys, so I was just reading some research papers on exercise science and as we all know most of the research in exercises is done by ACSM (American council on sports medicine) and other USA based academies..i came across a course with specialized in tactical combat fitness....I have friends from SAI (sports Authority of India) and they say indian coaches are not up to date with modern researchs and that's why mostly foreign strength and conditioning coaches are hired on elite sports level..so wanted to ask about the status of defence universities of India in research? This is the course I came across while searching for some material for my upcoming strength and conditioning coach examination
