Nagastra-1, developed by Solar Industries, is set to be inducted in the Infantry for the Indian Army. Fulfilling the contract from Indian Army, Economics Explosives Limited (EEL), a subsidiary of Solar Group, has manufactured and supplied 480 Loiter Munitions (LM) under the Emergency Procurement.
KHARGA kamikaze Drone is cost effective (Approx 30,000), light weight, quick launch and easy to fabricate aerial system capable of being deployed in Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance roles as well as for kamikaze attacks onto enemy forces. It is equipped with a High-Definition camera, carries explosive payload, is GPS navigation enabled, evades detection by enemy radars and also has counter measures for enemy electromagnetic spectrum jamming.
The FPV Drone was fully assembled in-house at Rising Star Drone Battle School of Indian army under Fleur-De-Lis Brigade, under Maj Cephas Chetan of EME not DRDO, which has built over a hundred drones in the fleet as of March 2025.1). This in-house approach ensured complete control over build quality and component integration, team optimized structural integrity & and flight dynamics.3) TBRL’s contribution in the project was in terms of the munition & the final phase validation in their ranges. The circuitry for the explosive, the drone electronics, safeties to trigger the explosive - were all designed, developed & tested by Indian Army. Not undermining the efforts of TBRL , but they do not have any sort of expertise in Drones or avionics. Credit where due to the officers of the Indian Army and , who go ahead of their charter of duty to develop instruments which are operationally viable. The results reinforce the viability of FPV Drones as a game changing force multiplier for modern tac engagements.
