A snapshot from the video gives us a look at the nose radar on the IAF's CH-47F(I) - another feature I forgot to mention which Chinooks with this nose setup have (and the reason for black radome/tip of the nose).
However, MH-47s which also have this nose, carry a specialized Multi-Mode Radar, the AN/APQ-174B, in an externally attached pod on the left side:
...while the nose remains empty:
The reason for this, I believe, is that the back-end of the APQ-174B radar perhaps could not be accommodated in the limited real estate available in the nose, necessitating the external pod, while leaving a bundle of other electronics to occupy the space in the nose. Only a theory.
