So as I kept saying to many here, Russia has lost territory on net since the end of March last year. And when Ukraine has moved they've made huge gains quickly due to the complete collapse of Russia defences in those areas, which means they likely lost less men regaining the territory than Russia has in the slow, painful advance that they've persisted with.
India could prevent that by reducing its import of Russian oil down to pre-war levels. This wouldn't give China as much time to gain strength, and the faster Russia loses, the less it will be weakened when it does.
That India would not have had to raise its oil imports from Russia if Western world didn't go all out with full of money bags to buy whatever stock supply from Gulf produced. If Europe could bring down their import of Gulf oil down to pre-war levels, India might be more accomodative of Western mutual interests and it could look for other available sources of oil.
When Indian ministers were raising our concerns, Western world was look for self interest, to safeguard their oil supply. You didn't look for our mutual interests, why should we not look for our people interests now?

And let's be honest about this, it very much isn't just the import of Russian oil, Indian media has done its best to twist facts completely and portray Putin as something much nicer than what he actually is, to put it mildy.
