Chandrayaan-2 : Updates

It did not , there is the predicted trajectory and a permissable margin of deviation from the same. The lander was within the permissible limits infact close to predicted trajectory.

Most probably the landing producing some hiccups
You are correct. Lander was programmed to alter its landing position based on surface data to chose the exact landing spot.

The orbiter has cams and was supposed to track the final descent of lander. It will send the pics of the final landing site of Lander and we will know about what happened to Lander.

Actually the third engine, the center one was supposed to cut in for final soft landing. may bge it failed to come alive.
The problem was always going to be those engines. Unfortunate that it had to end like this.
At 2 KM Alt lunar dust should not have mattered........
Dust comes into play at less than 400 metres alt.

Lets just wait for official update. It should be out by tomorrow.
Anyway its late. I am going to bed. Good night guys.

Comms cut off at 1.8 km does not indicate crash
Rather it indicates possible component failure where higher than anticipated g force and assorted stress and strain must have effected the comms.

The camera on the orbiter has a high resolution of around 30 cm.. Should be able to pick up something of the lander.. hopefully...
