The Russians have developed a variant which they've used to power their latest Admiral Gorshkov class of guided missile frigates. They got NPO to design the marine turbine engine after Ukraine turned them down in 2014 . Apparently BHEL has also signed an agreement last year end with Zorya Mashproekt for local manufacturing of spares which hasn't been operationalized till date for obvious reasons. The scope of the agreement too is unknown. Video linked in #641 is fairly detailed. The ships having gas turbines from Ukarine
1. 8 active Veer Class , for a average service of 30 years they will be in IN till around 2030. But this ship is widely used design. Spares shouldn't be a problem here.
2. 10 Talwar Class. This is the main issue. 6 are in service. As Russian Navy also hold 3 of the same in service, I think the spares and service part might be ok. The real problem starts with the new 4. Out of 4 as previously explained, 2 in Russia have their sets. But the 2 in Goa, don't. I think these two hulls might get abandoned.
3. 3 Rajput Class Destroyers. The newest is 36 years old. So not really a worry.
4. 10 P15 class. Out of which I have doubts only with 1 ship. Rest should be fine.
So these 31 ships are real worry. 10 P15 and 10 Talwar class. We need a solution for them.
Derived from An26 which is in service in large numbers. The Progress engines can surely be serviced from Russia too. So that ain't a big worry.An-32

A PN F22P Frigate and a PMSA OPV will be present here too.
The motivation behind functioning of Indian Armed Forces is radically different from the Jihadi mindset. They are more than capable enough to take on enemies. In every previous conflict Indian Armed Forces faced almost a numerically par force with technically superior technology and better foreign backing. Still we stand today. That says a lot about the metal of armed forces.Only to show off like bollywood. Indian commanders piss in their pants when war comes and talk about peace and economy.
