Indian Political Discussion

I guess its on person using it. It doesnt have any meaning in general. just like bengali, gujrati and punjabi. can have negative tone or nothing at all.
It's not derogatory. F.y.I I've seen most Parsi males pepper every sentence with bc . Including with their own family members which also includes females .And some females use it freely too . Young and old . That's just how they are . And they don't consider it derogatory. They're a pretty carefree , jovial and sporting lot mostly , with their own eccentricities and keep mostly to themselves .

Bjp need a leader in kerala.... they do not have.... Modi cant do much..... can assure you that..... max 3 to 4 assembly seats.... or 2 to 3 Mps.... that's the max in next 10 years.... beyond that..... no clue....

Kerala is totally a different turf

Before Assam was conquered I was thinking negatively about BJP Prospects in Assam, WB, NE and Kerala. Now twofrontier are conquered so I am more hopeful than I was few years back.
If grassroot is strong leaders would emerge with time. BJP should have a good cader in Kerala.

Well..... The cadres are very less, barring few pockets..... Like Trivandrum (Pappanamcode), Palakkad, Kannur, Kasargode, and Chengannur......... The problem is population, religious divide.... The only way is tie up with other parties.... They tried that with SNDP, But the problem is they are united as a community, but when in to politics, they are divided, and vellappally uses that organisation as his ancestral property..... The other way is teing up with other regional parties....

I can tell you both congress and CPm may fight at each other..... But both will ensure BJP is not getting a foot hold there..... Their control on media is too strong, and "JanamTV" cant do much to counter them.....

Agree, but can assure you its rarely if ever used in the endearment form here ....

Which is cool. The day we need vindication from a certain type, we might as well roll over and die ...

P.S. No Parsi refers to another Parsi as bawa. As I guess no malyali refers to another malyali as mallu.

Cheers, Doc

Well No matter how hard Congress and Left tries they cannot match financial power of BJP. Congress is bankrupt and left is also left only in Kerala.
Problem with Congress and Left in Kerala is that they somehow present a picture of playing tag team match against BJP and they will allow BJP to capture opposition space. It might take time but will happen eventually. Somehow BJP is able to manage christian population in state like Jharkhand and North East so religious equations if Kerala will also be handled by strategists. BJP is getting decent votes from Christians in Jharkhand and NE so they should manage Kerala as well.

Principal opposition in kerala is congress.... any alliance with them will ensure CPM ideologies are weaken.... Will be difficult for them to explain to their cadres..... Another fear is they might loose their strong Hindu base to BJP

That is what I'm saying that CPM won't align with Congress - Yechuri demand of aligning with INC won't be strengthened. Karat Faction will have a last say. If they both fight amongst them, benefit for BJP in Waste Bengal & Kerala.

Don't know where's disconnect between us?

Its clear that there are very few anti bjp anti hindutva voices here.

It is sad to see that these are being attacked in communal overtones.

By attacking their prophet (Muslim) or their church or rice bags (Christian) or their ancestors who came here for refuge from their cousin civilization (Parsi).

In effect they want a Sanghi echo chamber here. And they will succeed. The way things are going.

Cheers, Doc

Money doesnt matter much in Kerala...... I told you this is a different turf..... I can tell you from my experience of living in 5 states...... They are very smart...... You cant buy votes in Kerala, even if you could buy they are not significant to decide the outcome.... May be in some local body elections.... nothing beyond....

Let me tell you a bit of history.... BJP used to vote for congress in past to keep CPM away...... At times openly...... BJP does not have cadre strength to create one..... To make things worse, common people in Kerala look at RSS as a terror organisation, because of the bad name they got by fighting CPM..... CPM is the party which initiatted this, but since they are in power off an on they had other means to cover this..... But not with BJP....

It might take time but will happen eventually.

BJP cannot rule Kerala with out getting support of either a christian based or Muslim based political party...... Their strength in North and Centre kerala is very high.....

BJP is getting decent votes from Christians in Jharkhand and NE so they should manage Kerala as well.

They made some head way..... There were some positive statements from influential priests in kerala.... But mind you... Christians are not united as well... They have more factions than hindu castes all together..... :)

Lingayats get panel nod for minority tag

TNN | Mar 3, 2018, 05:36 IST BENGALURU: The Lingayat community’s demand for a minority-status tag received a big boost on Friday with a seven-member expert committee recommending to the Karnataka government to consider their plea.
The government had formed the panel to study the proposal for granting the minority status to Lingayats. The panel, headed by former Karnataka high court judge HN Nagamohan Das, has reportedly made the suggestion that the community’s plea is justified on the grounds that Lingayat religion is different from Hindu religion.

Sources said the government was likely to consider the report as it’s among the pre-poll strategies of the Congress to divide the large Lingayat vote bank — traditionally enjoyed by the BJP — in its favour in the upcoming assembly polls due in April-May. Latest Comment

Gauri Lankesh Murder: Hindu Yuva Sena Founder Taken into Custody

The SIT, on Friday, 2 March, remanded one suspect into 8 days’ custody for interrogation in connection with the murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead in September 2017. This is the first arrest in the case.

The suspect KT Naveen Kumar hails from Mandya district of south Karnataka but currently lives in Chikmagalur. Kumar is the founder of Hindu Yuva Sene.

The 37-year-old was on the radar of the investigative agencies. The Central Crime Branch, acting on a tip off that he was illegally trying to sell .32 mm cartridges in Bengaluru’s Cottonpete, arrested him on 18 February and recovered 15 rounds of cartridges from him.

Yes . This is what was needed . Post polls we're going to see a battle royale in the courts and outside of it . In the medis , on the streets , in the press . Let it come . Let it be decided once and for all what constitutes Hinduism and who's a Hindu . While we're on it , let's also have a dekko at the minority institutions act and reconcile it with how the government has taken over adminstration of every Hindu institution leaving only the minorities to administer theirs .

Most welcome move . Needaramiah has unwittingly opened up a Pandora's box .

I hope you and I both are active in this Forum till what I say comes true. Nothing stays permanent and Leftists would be routed in Kerala very soon.

Population in terms of religion in Kerala : Religion in Kerala - Wikipedia

Population in Asaam : Islam in Assam - Wikipedia

In Assam BJP was up against 34 % muslims population and it registered a victory, in Kerala muslims and Christians are about 43% so its little tough but doable. One important factors is muslim populations being concentrated in pockets its affecting all constituencies. Lets see how it pans out in Kerala.

Politics is art of making possible the impossible and BJP has proved it.

I do not know if you are getting my point..... Kerala is totally a different Turf, just like TN.....Both are different cases though.....

Media in Kerala is one of the strongest..... You talk about Arnab, here you have several arnabs in different channels... You even have a Barkha dutt.... Lolz...... Kerala is a place where you have news paper and news channel for every political or religious parties..... followed by 2 big news outlets who decide the agenda...... And every keralite reads news paper, and their level of understanding on politics is in a different level..... I am talking about villages and b and c class cities.....Their political knowledge is more or less if not the same level of A class city population.....

I dont have to go thru this ( i have not gone thru) I am aware of this, familiar with it.....

My comment which you deleted was no more or less off topic than the comment it was a reply to. Be strict or be lenient, but be fair to both sides. Don't let someone shoot, scoot and falsely play the victim when all they do is enable trolls.

It's unacceptable to support trolls then cry that your voice is being suppressed because your ideological viewpoint differs from most others on a blog. The truth is they are being given what they deserve for trolling and supporting trolling, if they approached us with civil, logical discussion - we would engage them that way.

But the problem is that all the active members, except for a handful, are of the sanghi mindset.
But the problem is that all the active members, except for a handful, are of the sanghi mindset.

So you either engage (which is personally distasteful to me) or you get a sanghi echo chamber. Look at all the active threads, you'll see ....

You pretend to be neutral but you are having congie ,sickular mindset so many have same kind of hatred for you that you have for them. Your statement quoted above prove your line of thinking so this feeling is mutual.

You were doing well here before you decided to start playing big bother to GND and came under fire and are now playing victim card here. There are no saints here.
