Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Programme - Updates and Discussions

SM3 has like 4 stages,
Booster
1st stage
2nd stage
Liquid stage KV (+DACS)

AD2
1st stage
2nd stage
Liquid KV
Though I don't know the dimensions.
It Can't be more than 1m> diameter?
(Hopefully, 600mm ish)
AD-1 is 500-600mm ish at its booster.
BMD Destroyers will definitely be 13-14k ton displacement ships.
We need 6 ships minimum. 8 preferred.

For AD2 if chart comparing both missiles has right ratio of sizes of both ad1 and ad2.
Can we can expect ad2 to have diameter between 0.55m-0.6m and length of~8.5m.
Slightly longer and slightly narrower than standard brahmos.

Not sure if anyone has posted this earlier but here we go

It's not range, it's the protected area footprint, around the missile launcher

Potential acquisition which derails our projects

Also, any status on deployment of Phase 1? I've only read about Delhi and Mumbai being protected

And also any update on Phase2?
They didn't even start the project. They imported the Israeli Arrow system, which has been offered to us long back.

Can the Indian BMD survive this European attack?

All high-end imports are not substitute for indigenous systems(S-400/500 & Kusha, Su-60MKI & AMCA etc), rather they work as complimentary to each other. Not only our BMD will survive but its footprint will continue to grow until that point where its coverage reaches pan India. Also apart from land-based BMD, we'll even have the aegis of formidable sea-based BMD too doing the job for us. Don't worry.

Keeping fingers crossed. I do believe everyone in the govt. understands the importance of keeping Kusha/AD-AH fully self-reliant and funded and avoid killing it for some S500+EuroBMD solution.
