DRDO has released EoI for 2 types of High Explosive technology. First warhead is most probably for a SAM and second is most probably a warhead either for ATGM or any penetrating bunker burster bomb. 20241012_110305.png20241012_110337.png

Amogha-3 is a watered-down version of the MPATGM. Reduced weight, reduced range, reduced armour penetration & of course reduced price.

BDL is now in conversation with some foreign country to export the Amogha-3. They haven't mentioned which country. I think it is Armenia. Amogha-3 would be an upgrade over the 2nd generation SACLOS guided Konkurs-M they purchased from BDL last year.

It apparently has an advanced (some say better than the one on Nag/Helina) EO/IR seeker with AI algos + aiming sight from Tonbo.

The bulk of the mass will be met through MPATGM or Amogha-3, depending on which finally turns out to be cheaper. But a significant number of Western-spec ATGMs will more than likely be procured as well.

And the formations that will use them will be operating alongside the Strykers.

Possibly an appeasement buy. We don't want tariffs after all. Our manufacturing is starting to pick pace. A shock like that would hurt us far more than putting a domestic system on the backburner would.

We won't be using it in Thar but in Ladakh/Arunachal.

We've suggested some minor improvements to the Javelin system seems like, we'll be re-trialing soon.

We need to create SOPs & training regimens for some important US-spec equipment to be used along the LAC if we expect the US to resupply us with additional stocks of that equipment in case of a war with China.

ATGMs are going to be a critical resource in any conflict with the PLA. Our domestic factories may be attacked/degraded in a prolonged war. The option of foreign resupply has to be kept open as a back-up, at least until our GNP grows to a respectable level vis-a-vis China which can successfully deter any aggression from the PRC.
