Based on the design by ADA & DRDO, the fabrication of Leading edge of AMCA initiated at HAL with special material for 5th gen design. The unit will undergo structural & other testing before putting it on the first prototype. An imp milestone for AMCA. @PMOIndia @DefenceMinIndia

I think they are testing fixed-DAS(MAWS), not EOTS which requires moving gimbals for laser designator & single target track.Breaking as reported in October 2021. EOTS of AMCA to start flight trials.https://t.co/eRuTcQNGd8 pic.twitter.com/WlqQGFhGrU

Could be DAS as well as per certain posts in the thread.
Month old news Paddy. Don't you read other threads out here except those pertaining to the UK Europe or the US ?
If all Goes well TN would soon be making fighter planes. HAL's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) would be assembled in Sulur near Coimbatore. 350 acres near Sulur Base is being acquired for Defence park & TIDCO is also finalising 3-4 other projects there.. #MakeInTN #Kovai pic.twitter.com/ZMWfiYezoq

I feel that such critical facilities should be more inwards away from shore. An internal geo location itself acts as a deterence & forces the only solution to use BMs or low altitude deep strike by jets. Otherwise in war time they can be more easily targeted by cruise missiles launched by enemy subs, etc. Supersonic cruise missiles already exist & hypersonic ones are being developed. So basically a BMD level system will have to be deployed to protect key facilities against CMs & BMs.If all Goes well TN would soon be making fighter planes.
