ADA AMCA - Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft

This is a DRDO/ADA representative (as he mentions late in the interview), talking about the AMCA simulator. Whilst talking about it, he says something that piqued my interest.
"we have to see that the stealth capabilities are maintained, stealth is the primary focus. This will be a fully 5th gen aircraft with a high amount of stealth. This will be the natural progression from the [tejas] MK2. And then we also will have a naval version of this [while pointing to the AMCA model], which is a twin engined deck based fighter".

He was simply refering to TEDBF no point in running wild guess.

On a side note VR glasses are good addition to FMS it will make the training more realistic.

But then also, the stealth of TEDBF might be comparable to Rafale M ?

There were & are rumours of a N-AMCA. All depends on when the TEDBF gets certified & more to the point when AMCA Mk-1 & Mk-2 make first flight otherwise post TEDBF the entire team will be doing what the CSL team which built the IAC-2 is doing in Kochi & what MDL team is doing / will be doing after launching the last of the Scorpenes.

Its cos ADA tried to push it a bit but navy likely reluctant as the IAF version itself won't be properly ready till 2040 at least. ADA chief did mention IF the navy want a naval version of amca they will develop it. But that is far away in backburner.
IAC2 repeat order in process, they got almost all the nods.
MDL actually got full order line & most likely a repeat sub order will happen+they need some time to absorb the tech part.

It seems significant sections of the first prototype have already been built

Amit Kashyap still remains one of the best YT content creators in any language , as far as providing scientific explanations with decent illustrations for various developments in the indigenous defence arena . This video is a very good example of what I've stated above . Pity he's not as prolific in creating content as he used to be once upon a time .

The opposite. The navy wanted an N-AMCA, but ADA said a new design has to be made, AMCA isn't suitable for carrier ops. IN was actually complaining about not having followed the French template of designing for the navy and the modifying it for the IAF. ADA said that's not a good idea either.

Instead TEDBF became the main naval jet. The IN decided to forgo shaped stealth for STOBAR carriers. A new CATOBAR design can be made stealthy though.

Fortunately for us the IN thinks logically. While they did propose to the IAF that the Naval version precede the AF version , once the IAF was disinclined to accepting the INs suggestion with the ADA proposing a 2 step plan of building a 4.5 Gen ++ like Rafale M before moving on to the 5th Gen Naval version , the IN immediately accepted the reasoning behind the logic & here we are.
