Attack Helicopters of IAF - LCH Prachand, AH-64E Apache : Updates & Discussions

IAF as usual is looking at the thing which is not its department.

If suppose an IAF pilot goes down in PoK again , say just 25-30 kilometres inside.

There are "0" casualty evacuation platforms with IAF to bring that pilot back safely within a couple of hours.

Casevac is what helicopters in any airforce of any NATO nation is used for, except IAF.

If we had an Mi17 with safety features of AW101, abhinandan wouldn't have got beaten and bloodied .
I think they've successfully developed an indigenous chin mounted EOTS package . It's either that or imported from Israel.
Anything beyond 5 kilometres, you need a proper mmw to acquire the target.

That is the whole reason why SANT is fired from Mi35 and not from Rudra or LCH.

Do you mean MMW radar or seeker ? In case of the former does the Mi-35 have it while the Rudra & Prachanda lack it ?

Frankly I don't understand this . If a platform from 1970s - 80s vintage has it , should it be a problem integrating it in contemporary ones ? If yes , why ?
People expect something like the one on Apache. Not the "kaam chalau" thing on Mi35.

As for why there isn't any work on it by us , I cannot say.

Coz if we are developing SANT to destroy a target ar 20km from command guidance, common sense says, we should also be developing a radar for helicopter platform to send those commands to the missile.

Perhaps it's in development or it may not be seen as a priority area given CABS & LRDE are engaged in more pressing duties besides a shortage of personnel. Can't it be imported with local production following ToT?

I don't see a commercially available option in this.

Even those apaches we ordered, only half of it has MMW radar,
Targeting datas can be relayed with Data links?
If so, we should also test sant in Prachand & Rudra..
In a group of heli, one Apace with MMW radar can send targeting datas to rest of the team??
