The biggest fear for me remains is the Soft top transport trucks as well as buses used to ferry around CRPF troops. This is something that should weigh upon the Home Ministry as well as the army brass. If we are using Buses ensure these are modified to provide as much as safety from small arms to the Occupants, Engine, transmission, and Steering. In addition incorporate riot type ballistic shields, and larger convoys. Instead of 7.62x54R PKT rifles, incorporate gun mounts for 12.7mm NSV or 50calM2's on the lead and trailing vehicles, maybe even remote turrets with enough stopping power to for hardkill of a Pulwama type suicide vehicle.
There are buses available in the local market with BR6 and BR7 level protection.

Many Israeli school buses are armoured, so they are typically victims of RPG and ATGM attacks. I'm pretty sure military buses are armoured against small arms. But it's going to be a problem when they have to commandeer civilian buses for transport.
I think only an MBT can survive the amount of explosives used in the Pulwama attack. You can see the kinda impact car bombs can make in this video.

Basic design of these car bombs.
But yeah, bus convoys should be covered by an MRAP or something similar with an RCWS. Eventually someday armed escort drones with mini-ATGMs can be used when the technology catches up.
@randomradio what's happening on the armored vehicles front for IA and Home Ministry? any clue.
MoD:
FICV, everybody is still discussing the process it should happen under.
FRCV, even specs haven't been decided.
But we are buying BMP-2s and such in the meantime. Some 150+ BMP-2s were added to the production queue in June.
MHA:
They are working as efficiently as ever. CRPF has a number of armoured vehicles sanctioned and they have modified many vehicles with armour as well. They have been testing Renault's Sherpa in Kashmir.
