You don't really need to test based on the size of the population. You only need to test based on the number of positive cases you get. This virus does not transmit easily after all.
So, considering that metric, Maharashtra is extremely pathetic in relation to TN, and TN is also quite bad in relation to more successful states.
Maharashtra is at 1 positive result for every 6.25 tests.
TN, it's 17 tests.
Delhi, it's 8 tests.
Gujarat, it's 12 tests.
UP, it's 35 tests.
Rajasthan, it's 47 tests.
MP, it's 23 tests.
WB, it's 31 tests.
So these are our worst affected states. WHO says the testing rate is good as long as we get 1 positive result for every 10 tests. So Maharashtra and Delhi have to improve a lot.
TN is better than the two states, but falls short of other South Indian states.
Kerala, it's 61 tests.
Karnataka, it's 67 tests.
Andhra Pradesh, it's 94 tests.
Telangana is run by idiots, so can't consider it here.
While we can say that Maharashtra and Delhi are non-BJP states so automatically have bad governance, but TN has had a history of good governance and is a relatively rich state, but its testing rate is still quite dismal compared to its neighbours.
Our three main clusters, with WB, Gujarat and Hyderabad doing their best to compete with them, we definitely need to improve testing in those regions by many times.
I'm pretty sure Hyderabad is f&cked as well, perhaps worse than Mumbai is.
Trump needs to build a wall around Telangana.
