This ship is designed for shallow waters submarine hunting. They chose waterjet propulsion for this role. It will be operating separately from group led by carrier.

So all of the 15 Mahe and Arnala class has been launched now with nine of them waiting to be delivered and commissioned? What's the difference in capability between both apart from their size?
Mahe built by CSL and Arnala by GRSE. Arnala class will mainly be for the eastern coast, while Mahe will be for the Western fleet. Shouldn't be much difference in capability. It was the same project divided between 2 shipyards.
