Eurofighter Typhoon - Updates and Discussions

When we are accused of a fault we do not have, it is often because the accuser has it. 😛
Well you preached on and on about the Rafale's radar and sensor fusion (better than the F-35 apparently), yet in the Swiss eval, which you the French leaked and flaunted, it was only marginally ahead of the Typhoon (with two Amiga 1200 CPUs) on SA and was beaten on engagement. You also BS'd on about performance, M1.4 supercruise, close-coupled canards etc. yet on a/c performance you were beaten 9 vs 7.

I rest my case, please list your excuses below.....

First Kuwaiti Typhoons flying

On 15 October 2021, the first two two-seat Typhoons, destined for the al-Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Kuwaitiya (KAF, Kuwaiti Air Force) took to the air for the first time from Torino-Caselle Nord (Italy).

The two aircraft carried Italian test registration CSX55243 and CSX55244. Scramble is not sure if these two are manufacture fuselage numbers (not serials) KT003 and KT004. Kuwaiti serials are not applied yet.

As reported before, in April 2016, Kuwait signed an USD 8,7 billion contract with Finmeccanica (now Leonardo) for the supply of 28 aircraft (including six two-seat multi-role trainers), with associated training, logistics, and an operational support package.

The Eurofighter Typhoon final assembly line at the Leonardo Aircraft Division factory at Torino-Caselle Nord (Italy) launched the final assembly of the first KAF Typhoon formally in October 2018.

Back then, the plan was to start the delivery in 2020, with final deliveries in 2023. After delays some four two seaters appeared in April 2021 outside the factory in Turin (Italy) . It was announced a few days ago full power test had commenced and the first flight was imminent.

RAF Typhoons conducting routine patrols in the area were tasked to investigate. Despite the small size of the drone making it a very challenging target, it was successfully shot down using an Advanced Short Range Air to Air Missile (ASRAAM) and the threat eliminated
