Above video info :

Intergration with aircraft ~ late 2018 / early 2019

Ground testing run ~ most of 2019

First flight ~ 2020

Aircraft mentioned is in general not specified as Tejas. Can it be ?

Mk1A cannot be inducted with Kaveri i think if first flight is in 2020.

Hopefully GE414 gets adopted somehow or more powered GE 404 for mk1A

With certification Testing in mig 29 k or UPG , can it replace RD 33MK 3 engines

No chance of Kaveri for Mk1A. Only a miracle can make it possible, but GTRE is not capable of that. And it's impossible for Mk2 either, GTRE needs 10 years to get an F414 equivalent Kaveri certified. So only IUSAV and AMCA are likely to get Kaveri.

LCA is expected to fly with Kaveri, but a more logical aircraft would be the Mig-29.

Kaveri on Mig-29K during MLU is always possible. It's too late for the UPG, it already has new engines. Kaveri on M-2K is also possible.

Only the higher 98KN thrust Kaveri will be considered for Mig-29s as their present engine is 93KN thrust rating.

Yep. And that's 10 years away according to GTRE, even with French support. I hope the French bring in more efficiency, but they are yet to get fully involved with the program, which can happen once the offsets kick in after end 2019.

But Amca won't get ready in 5 years , by the time Amca gets ready high power Kaveri might be available.

So the current kaveri engine can be used only in UAV s ?

No orders of engine for for MK1A too.
When do you think we ll place orders ?

When I met last time.... He looked very different and very young.......more over MP is currently having a peaceful time with his family due to his illness..... Where as Aashish parrikar is having stressful time steadying the boat in aassam.....

Yeah, the current Kaveri is good enough when the afterburner isn't necessary.

As for Mk1A, the main order with HAL has to be placed first. Only then can HAL order from GE.

If the K-10 is expected in 6-8 years & so is the Mk-2 as per your statement, why can't the MCA feature the K-10? Why wait for the AMCA?

GTRE says 10 years actually. Whereas MCA will already be in production by then.

The better option is to split the MCA between F414 and K-10. It's not like the IAF will order all 201 jets or more at once.

With SP 16 to made in march 2019
And production rates to be increased to 16 from next year
We only got 2 years or at most 3 years to complete mk1 orders

When are the IAF going to place orders for Mk1A ?
After the first flight ? When is that going to happen ?

It can either be signed within this term or early next term. Either way, it won't slow down the program itself.

As far as I'm concerned, we will face no problems as long as the first squadron comes in by 2023.
