India-Bangladesh relations.

No military engagements for the next 30 years. It is very easy to start a military confrontation, but extremely difficult (if not impossible) to get out.
War is inevitable in the eastern theatre, Bangladesh is already facing the heat of the climate change, the country is lossing it's area to sea day by day at incredible Speed, also the Bay of Bengal is the one of the most prone areas of heavy cyclones frequently, and nor Bangladesh has competitive solution to deal with natural disasters, every year they are getting flooded, due to higher rainfall also our dams can't hold that volume of water, and Bangladesh population ain't helping it very much, the people from this country will continuously increase at your doorstep every year, there's already a demographics changes started in West Bengal and Assam, the current political leadership is still sleeping, the only talk about illegal immigrants in election but they aren't doing jackshit to tackle it, it's already starting to becoming a massive problem, if States like jharkhand are aren't safe you forget about the bordering state

If things don't change for them, BD is headed towards an economic collapse within 2 years. They don't have sufficient forex. GDP is expected to grow at just 4% this year.

A refugee crisis is brewing.

hasnt lots of bangladeshis has already crossed border? and living as Indian in disguise,
they even changed sex in recent delhi bust.
shows how desperate Bangladeshi are due to overpopulation there.
in many recent riots they are confirmed to be involved too,
quiet dangerous situation.
and we have mamta ruling bengal and in future AIMIM is recipe for disaster.

What works in our favor is the Aadhaar system. Biometric identity means an Indian citizen will leave a long paper trail from birth whereas a new immigrant will simply pop into existence as an adult, which shows up as a red flag in the system. No legal paperwork, you get jail time, deportation etc. So it's the long game that matters.

Current estimate is 10-20 million, many of whom have left a paper trail. Especially the ones in Assam due to NRC. RSS is hatching a plan, apparently, to introduce NRC everywhere possible.

TMC has lost a lot of support in WB. BJP's voteshare rose 28% in the last election. Now they are 48% vs 38%. This could reverse in 2026.

Sir;

You need to educate me. Checken's neck at the smallest is 28 km long. Does India not have enough fire power to defend 28 kms if / when attacked?

From military point of view, you might be correct in asking for a military confrontation. But from economic, political & every other point of view, a military confrontation will be an unmitigated disaster.
The problem is not BD but BD acting in consort with China.

I think we should have hold chicken neck in 1981, I don't think BD would have disagreed with us in 1971 for that formula. Don't know what had prevented us from doing that.
But now the scenario if war broke out with pak or china or BD not now, prepare for a three front war. So wage ear on BD & we should grab chicken neck as well as a land piece from BD which connecting directly Tripura to ocean in that war.

@randomradio is this true? Chinese airbase in Bangladesh, that too as close to chicken neck.

Sure, they can build it for us to take. That place is in Rangpur, the area necessary to expand the width of the Chicken's Neck.

I would need a better source than a tweet but if he is someone reliable then I'll assume it's true.

I don't think they plan on any kind of war, probably not even a short scale conflicts with a few cross fires.

They are probably just making some deals with Pakistan for future partnership and trade. Afaik, they also use chinese tanks? So probably makes sense.

I don't think they are stupid enough to start a war, atleast with their current economy and the situation of their population with all the instability.

Arm-chair generals on this thread living in their own make-believe world, creating invasion plans on their own :ROFLMAO: . Meanwhile, in real world, Modi who was unwilling to meet Yunus just a few days ago, capitulated in an instant and agreed to a meeting with Yunus, as he saw India-Bangladesh relations being derailed by unnecessary rhetoric from both sides.

Yunus's comment about landlocked 7 states was w.r.t. economic perspective. He wanted Chinese companies to set-up shop in BD & serve India's landlocked northeast, which in my opinion is a smart move from BD. That's exactly what i would do if i was in their shoes. India's northeastern states import a lot of commodities from Myanmar due logistical problems w.r.t mainland India. Bangladesh could easily replace that & somewhat balance their trade deficit with India. Would reduce inflation in northeastern states as well, due to cheaper production costs & smaller logistical footprint.

But ofcourse, that HAD to be taken out of context & presented as a military threat. Complete dishonesty all around. That just became another talking point for jingoists from both sides. Just plain lies & dishonesty is all I see.

Anyone with a brain knows this whole region has benefitted from absence of State backed conflict, leading to increased prosperity for both sides, in severe contrast to our western borders. Where all - Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iran - continue with pathetic economic growth due to their retarded conflicts & meddling with each other. But, still keyboard warriors want to throw all that away and play war thunder with each other. Chair-borne brigade on this thread is just ready to pounce & conquer BD in a week:ROFLMAO:. ASEAN which was poorer & fragile than us, has already become more developed than us due economic co-operation among each other. BUt, retards here, instead of becoming like ASEAN, would rather want conflict, when there is no reason for one, and become miserable like our western neighbourhood[pak-afg-iran].

Just so funny to me that regions with $2500pci are making up war plans as if lives of people in this region aren't miserable enough already.

I don't think you have an understanding of what a forum is. Better first understand what a forum is all about then maybe you'll find your comment just as retarded as you find the people who are making absurd imaginary scenarios of war.

Such utter crap.

Modi-Yunus meet was reported back in Feb.

That popat went to meet the Chinese just to rile up India, and received a public dressing down from Modi for his efforts and you think that's some great coup on popat's part.

Has the esteemed member who apparently has no time and no time management skills figured out that BD has offered China an air base in Rangpur?

Does esteemed member not know that 2500 pci countries are big, juicy targets for things like proxy wars and regime changes or was he born only yesterday?

Keeping 2500 pci at 2500 pci to keep it from becoming 5000 pci requires changing the security calculus of the country. At 5000 pci, a country becomes majority middle class and educated.

If Indian 2500 pci becomes 5000, new problems will begin for other players, like income enough to match US' defense spending.

Read the following three posts.

And the rise of a new potential superpower.

I will say don't trust this website, they are pretty much **** with better UI.

Why is I d r w censored?

They were extremely unreliable when they started off. Even today they post unverified information quite frequently, so they are like a hit or a miss.
