The green oval is Mirpur the red oval is Mangla .
The yellow square is Abhinandan Mig-21 The blue diamond is the PAF f-16
That's what the indians showed in press conference as "irrefutable evidence".
So if we overlay a geographical map on top of this and take Mirpur and Mangla relative distance and angles as a reference then Abhinandan was flying right above the outskirts of Mirpur City when he shot down Pakistani F-16. Also the F-16 was struck in the skies above Mirpur and completely visible from Mirpur
A burning falling plane in Broad daylight was not noticed by any in Mirpur city? Also Abhinandan then flew another 30 km south to be shot near Bhimber?.
Seriously?

Do you see the LOC shown in red line?

On popular demand I decided to share more detailed info on effect of Indian Air space closure to Pakistan both from increased air traffic isolation to Pak & massive overflights free money lost.
This is in continuation to my earlier post, where I also explained how cost will increase dramatically even for direct flight to other countries, which didn't include India, due to supply shortage which get worse.
India - Pakistan Standoff 2019 &
India - Pakistan Standoff 2019

This time the analysis is from 3rd party one region to another, who are providing services stopping in India or Pakistan to travel elsewhere. This is a very important part, as it greatly enhances connectivity & major source of revenue.
Region from Origin of flight - GULF. (Please excuse, India map is not accurate)
View attachment 5845
GULF countries flight to Asean, China, Korea/Japan region. as was prior to airspace closure (for rough understanding)
Green donates flights halting in Pakistan & orange donates halting in India to their final destination, for general explanation purpose
View attachment 5846
India - Now flights stopping in India to there destination, simply ignores Pakistan airspace & does longer OverFlight in India, meaning more earning for India.
Pakistan - Lose hefty
OverFlight charges
View attachment 5847
Gulf countries, earlier halting in Pakistan to final destination in Asean & region around
Now gulf flights to travel over Himalayas & Tibet inroute is not feasible for many reasons, extreme weather, sudden extreme high low pressures, lack of landing opportunity in case of any emergency, hence flights would prefer below route
View attachment 5848
Here they have constant support & options in case of emergency, besides the route is more heavily populated, makes for more economic sense.
Note: Since India is not allowing planes to travel over India airspace via Pakistan, they are forced to Ignore Pakistan halts & travel over more Indian Airspace than usual. Resulting in more Overflight charges for India & loss to Pakistan both in connectivity & free dollars.

China - some may say its not true China, but it is, 80% of Chinese population is in east coast, 20% population in central/western region. Since air traffic is directly proportional to population density, means for 20% population in central & western region of China, due to lack of population density, air traffic might be as little as 10% of eastern China, due to economics.

So what I have shown is most flights from gulf travelling to Asean, China, Koreas/Japan region will ignore Pakistan airspace. Be it direct flight or halt in Pakistan to their final destination. Even if Pakistan was to open its airspace, as long as India don't allow passage, most will avoid overflight to Pakistan.
Ofcource flight from Gulf to Australia, Europe, Africa & Americas wont pass over Pakistan either - so not important to discuss.

So effectively, other than final destination Pakistan flights, it will lose all overflight charges from Gulf countries.
Same is true for flights originating from Americas, Europe, Africa etc.
They all miss Pakistan, increase Pakistani person flight cost due to lack of supply & miss out on 100 of million of dollar. It basically working like a embargo on Pakistan.

While on other side in India, will incure some extra cost for domestic carriers for longer traavel, may have to charge slightly more due to increase cost, & increase cost to economy, on other side will result in greater overflight distance by foreign carriers increasing overflight revenue for India. Making it net zero game for economy.
India can even pass the extra revenue so expected from foreign carriers onto domestic carriers, neutralizing their cost.

While Effect on Pakistan is devastating, International flights Isolation (except Pakistan as final destination), many fold increase in travel cost, due to decrease in supply and options available to locals. And 90-95% of earlier Overflight charges (free dollars) lost & increasingly blowing India way.
Hope someone will give a Like for the effort :p:ROFLMAO:
Sure
Air India suffers massive losses due to Pakistan airspace closure

so you are not claiming that IAF doctored the Radar scans?

AI has been suffering losses since ages. It's testimony to both the GoI's tenacity and robustness of the Indian economy that they've been kept afloat for this long. A lot of people question the wisdom behind this move especially since pvt airlines are going bust or undergoing restructuring. But that's how it is.

Let's see how far PIA survives & in what shape.

Can those familiar with the situation explain to me why Air India hasn't been Privatized or Liquidated yet?

There were some steps taken to privatize it a couple of years ago. The terms offered and the debt on the books didn't seem feasible. Tatas evinced interest but backed off. Plus the overall market wasn't too receptive to the terms offered. Status quo prevailed. Actually they're sitting on plenty of prime real estate in the country and abroad. It requires someone with guys of steel to state down the unions and monetize the land paring down the debt.

In fact monetization of real estate to pump in money to improve infrastructure, facilities, services and an overall better experience also holds good for the Indian railways. The Vashi station in New Bombay is a good example of it. One can extend the same example to the State Transport corporation bus depots in prime areas of the various cities & towns in Maharashtra and consequently the rest of India.

Let's tag @Amal ; @anant_s ; @dray & everyone who may know more about this subject.

Yes Netra, showed its capabilities in Balakot strike & did shine quite a bit.
C295 would be a good platform to mount it.As far as I know option is given to IAF both for 240degree coverage on C295 platform in traditional netra config and even in 360 degree model with a circular dish above - C295 already has experience with circular dish, hence it could be easily integrated too if required.
I am not sure if some range is compromised in 240 Vs 360, due to distributed power, but I do know both options on C295 is a good option, if the plane is manufactured in India, for long term security of platform of operations.

Here one article in Feb - providing more details
AERO INDIA: DRDO reveals plans for C295 variants
And another recent one 5 days back
DRDO Offers India Netra AEW&C On New Platform
The kind of warfare we use over land doesnot require 360 degree design, but for future when we have to go more towards sea we need to ask DRDo to develop atleast one for military to test it out. The coverage degree does not depend on range (my guess), its more dependent on radar design.

The coverage degree does not depend on range (my guess), its more dependent on radar design.
To my knowledge, scanning more coverage requires more power.
Example - If you have a set number of transmit–receive all facing one direction, say it has X range to detect. (now assume that range as base)
Now curve these transmit–receive in semi circle, without increasing the total number of transmit–receive, now its scanning more degree in curvature, then earlier, but any point focus transmit–receive are less than earlier, hence will result is lesser depth scan than earlier.
So now, to detect at same range lvl as earlier, when it was in a line, you either need to increase its power, by a very large factor Or You will require to add more transmit–receive along the curve which too will need more power to work.
So yes % degree scan & power are directly proportional to best of my knowledge.
@vstol Jockey pls share your expertise.

Any idea what the approved bailout package over a 10 year period is? In excess of 40,000 crores. That's 5.7 BN USD under current exchange rates. You think we are going to get worried over AI making loss for 6 months more? Seriously.

Lol! Wait until the *censored*s go on strike again in peak season, 40K crores will easily balloon to 60k crores. And the gentleman here thinks we should worry about a few extendended flight paths....he really doesn't understand much does he.....

@safriz a very possible punishment for Pak POWs is senidng them on enless Air India flights and letting them enjoy the 'service'. But then gaffoora might run to the UN quoting human rights violations.....

There was a 1 to 1.5 min gap between the F-16 and Mig-21 going down.
