That's why I was saying that for super sukhoi upgrades India must consider our own AESA. Only engine will be required from Russians. This is really big. India has completed AESA radar development. This is not just UTTAM radar but a scalable radar which can be used as UTTAm but also as other AESA radar for various platforms. The project began in 2013 and got completed by 5 years. This is huge development for India. If the Kaveri engine is readied by next year, the entire range of technology needed by India for fighter aircrafts will be available in India.
Even engine being imported is a risk. India should have full autonomy in Su30. Engine is the heart of a plane and having imported engine will be seriously damagingThat's why I was saying that for super sukhoi upgrades India must consider our own AESA. Only engine will be required from Russians.
More heartening news from the LRDE talk at #aeroindiaseminar The aesa radar, on a executive jet, is more or less done with A2A testing within 10%of performance expectations.

Why HAL is buying 2052 then, b'cuz of i-derby and other Israeli stuff? I mean HAL is incapable to integrate them all why not take DRDO's help. It looks to me HAL's Jaguar is hurting us more. @randomradio
