Read that, Ghatak prototype has entered full-fabrication. Is it true?

Also, can we mass produce the smaller SWiFT as well?
what exactly the point of 1 ton UCAV ?

Desi Firescout is here and it's from the pvt sector!
More like Camcopter S-100 which we ordered in numbers.

Firescout is derived from a proper light helicopter, which weighs over 1 ton. This will weigh one fifth of it probably.

The firm looks no-name and shady.
Not quite. They've been around since 2014 and recently bagged an IN order for ASW practice targets

Then HAL's RUAV is DoA, especially since the IA is moving forward with multi-copter cargo drones.

The Camcopter wouldn't have been the IN's first choice since they'd trialled it earlier too (2010-15 time frame iirc) and didn't go ahead with it.

Firescout was briefly under consideration but probably overkill/too expensive. They seem to have exhausted all their options before going back to Schiebel.

As a small & cheap mini-bomber along with a stealthy ISR platform, no?

Anyways, I did earlier say that I want IAF to induct SWiFT as a mini-bomber, but here I was just asking and not 'telling" per say.

Im also asking. The point of bomber is to carry bombs. These need to be able to carry significant load to be viable. It would be better to use cruise missiles or harpy like UAVs.

RUAV is designed for high altitude. They will have to redesign everything to operate from sea level and ship. It never had a chance.

Slight mix up. I meant the NRUAV that was meant to fill shipborne ISR roles. Earliest concept was based on the Chetak airframe with IAI sensor+ew fit. RUAV is an IA specific requirement.

Oh you meant the historic non starter program
HAL rotary wing UAV projects are all jinxed. RUAV is likely headed down the same path as N-RUAV.

Ironically, the Chetak/Cheetal is still in production, and DRDO could probably come up with a homegrown radar+EW+FCS solution in no time.

We have excellent surveillance abilities after we have the predator Sea Gurdian Drone in the IOR region, but it is important to have the capability to strike quickly in a matter of seconds if we spot a threat. We do have SMART for the same, but it will be good if we acquire the strategic Bomber Tuplov Tu-60 and try torpedo dropping, possibly using a parachute and Bramohas. Stratgic Bomber seems to be an idle solution for IOR.

No we dont. Useless expensive toys for non-nuclear use.
