So one war like scenario gets balls rolling in mod and DRDO.
I don't think so.

Its been some time that NAVY put out a RFI for VLS based SR SAM requirement to replace the Barak 1 SAM for its smaller vessels where MFSTAR won't be used.

Hopefully they work on it will full thrust.

We have numerous small Corvettes/Missile vessels programs where these will be needed.

So this guy is going to replace barak1 in 5-6 years, but what about the shitl missiles any indigenous alternatives planned for it?
The medium-range SAM alternative is Barak 8 (LRSAM)

Delhi and Talwar classes get upgraded Shitl VL. Its not economical to replace all with LRSAM and israeli radars.

both talwars and delhi's have started getting oto meleras but the arm launchers still seem intact any idea when they will get the vls shitls?

Russian ships will get Russian SAMs. So the Talwars and Delhis will get a new Shtil version in a VLS form.

Kolkata, Nilgiri etc with Israeli SAMs will most likely stick to next gen Israeli systems during MLUs.

Our next gen ships may get an indigenous SAM, some reports said it will be a 250+Km version. But if that fails, then it's back to the Israeli solution.

Our smaller ships like NGC, NGMV etc will get the VL Astra and its modernisations until the next decade.

There is a possible upgrade.
1st replacing the arm launcher with VLS blocks.

Its target illumination system can be upgraded, that way itself with the newer propulsion systems being manufactured for the land based Bukm3 , the range can be extended upto 50+ km.

They should be seen like doing some thing which relates to overall situation. Once it normalizes every thing will be back to normal. We will then pick it up when the situation takes place. The cycle continues.....

Why?...i doubt IN will keep the mfstar on those forever and with a long list of indigenous missiles being developed i dont understand why we would stick to israeli systems

We have a habit of going back to the first OEM for upgrades.
yes true but we also didnt have any domestic options in most cases did we?..but lets see what happens.

btw here an year old tender i found for another missile integration jig but its details are hidden behind a paywall if anyone's interested.
