Amit Shah has sent Yeddy a letter claiming support of 114 MLAs. Only problem is, the only thing those 10 MLAs could do in a trust vote is abstain to bring down the house strength and halfway mark (they can't join BJP under Anti Defection Laws, and would get Disqualified if they disobey party whip during a vote).

Congress+ JDS have given written document with singatures of all MLAs expressing support. That is the first test for government formation. After that they have to prove on floor.
Congress gave a list with 72 signatures and JDS with just 32. And that does not add up to half way mark. Till last evening, six congress MLAs had not reached Bangalore so how could they sign the document. same is true about JDS.
No- Congress and JDS have officially communicated they are in an alliance. what nonsense- MLAs contesting on a ticket sign these documents while contesting itself. You want to sit and mislead yourself you can, but the only person you're folling is yourself.
I am not denying their post poll alliance. I am countering your narrative that the list of MLAs provided by them had signatures of all their MLAs. In such a case when some of the signatures are missing from the list, Governor is well within his rights to call single largest Party to form the govt.
yes- I will fight against BJP on congress ticket, use congress symbol for getting votes and use their money/resources for canvassing, and congress will not take a document with my signature supporting the party beforehand because.......I obviously will decide whether to support conress or BJP after results....

NO. Fight on the ticket of Congress, their symbol and ideology and once elected stick to that ideology instead of being an opportunist and changing the whole ideology itself. How do you justify the main opposition fighting elections against the party which now supports them. is it not cheating the voters?
you mean the same party that BJP wanted to form a alliance with so desperately that Modi 'praised' Deve Gowda? No matter what the following three have not supported the main plank of the BJP in this election. If THIS is the plank that the opposition considers the biggest threat there is no issue forming and pre- or post alliance. Every party has the right to content and determine its strength in the elections. It's streangth is it's political position.

The deal is not done, till its done. If I was to look at this impartially, it was a master stroke by the Congress to provide support to the JDS instead of negotiating with them. The sad part is that, it again required Sonia Gandhi to intervene. I do not put it past the Congress to be able to get the BJP MLAs to abstain. Will that be horse trading? I really do not think its about morality. If the Congress is able to get 4 BJP MLAs to abstain, brilliant. Let this government fall. And JDS and Congress will form the government? Another thing is, in Karnataka JDS in the Old Mysore are fought against the Congress, with hardly any opposition from the BJP.
The BJP on the other hand, has the advantage of having a Governor in place from their system. Something the Congress has used previously and is crying now. If they manage to get Congress/JDS MLAs to abstain, too bad for them.
This is politics. You either have it or you don't. Crying is for kids. Do not get morality in the picture. None of these parties are moral.

News channels are roasting BJP as expected from 3 days and will continue for sometime, you can't get this much negative press for free, what a stupid move.

I agree with you. even Congress can make BJP MLAs cross vote as they did in Gujrat RS elections. I will be happy if this yeddy govt gets defeated. its time BJP smelled the coffee and did some home work for 2019. they are losing their way and need to get back on the right path. This move by BJP to form govt without majority will backfire on them. It would have been good if they had let Congress+JDS form the government and make it fall after 2-3 months and call for another elections. That would have given BJP the much needed brute majority and also dented congress and regional parties for 2019 elections making them irrelevant.
Right now Congress seems to be getting more invested in not forming government for a while. I think it's fair to say everyone thinks there is horse trading going on. So congress will want that percepton to continue-- illegal money being used by corrupt man ready to do anything for power is the greatest perception they can get. It elps that congress made a lovely move by not seeking CM position for themselves and giving it to JDS. In public perception Congress is playing a moral game against a corrupt man called Naredra Modi. I don't think congress could have asked for more.
It was a blunder for BJP to do this. They have more than 20 governments- losing one state would not have had a problem. And it would not have been a loss- everyone knows they 'almost' made it. Over all if they expected 100% effect on 2019, they'd have got 80% effect. Now the tide has turned to make it look like they're desperate and horse trading with massive corruption money. They didn't need this. But they're doing this because in 2019 th bellary mining revenues will be needed for running their campaign. Meanwhile @vstol Jockey @_Anonymous_ @Aravind BJP is trying to give JDS/Congress legislators MODI-CHOR Ke LADDU . Wherever those 100 crores are coming from, that ain't legal and it's money he's stolen from somewhere. Badhai ho.

CM lost election, most ministers lost elections yet Shah bhai made BJP look bad, it's important Modi keep that idiot in check otherwise he will wipe out BJP from map of India by becoming another congress.

The day you think that you are invincible, that day you are most vulnerable. I hope Modi and Shah read my words. If we talk of morality in the acts of BJP, we will be asking BJP to do harakiri. Just the way we do not want our army to exercise restraint under fire similarly asking BJP to be morally correct when others have blown morality away, will be wrong. why must BJP be asked to do so? I find nothing immoral with what BJP has done. But I am personally not in agreement that this is a good political move. IMHO, BJP has reduced its chances of having a landslide in Karnataka in 2019.
2019 elections are still far off. I would have to give it to Congress that they played a brilliant hand by moving first, but that's the thing BJP knew that they are almost there and they had peoples mandate. Also, we all know BJP is ruthless otherwise Goa etc wouldn't have happened. So I think this was expected of them to be honest.
Politics has only one aim-Power. And for that everything is fair-saam, daam, Dand, Bhaidh. What you do after acquiring power justifies your actions to usurp it. Those who loot India are called Congress and those who deliver are called BJP.
