Indian Political Discussion

Guys, opinions on the military picture aside, I am so frustrated by Rahul Gandhi and Congress, they have stooped to practically trolling the govt and indirectly the Army. They are pretty much retweeting fake handles claiming 0 casualties. What explains this? Idiocy or desperation?
Even Mamata, Jaganmohan etc are standing the govt.on this!

They are trying to show that they are More Nationalistic than BJP

But People know who really cares.for National.interests and National security

INC policy has always been to weaken India. Allow tibet annexation. This creates anti indian sentiments among tibetans, india also loses critical places of civilizational importance, also helps the hostile enemy China to get to the indian borders.
Second, to give refuge to Dalai lama, that helps swell up anti indians feelings even more among chinese.

As long as you understand that INC is a anti india and anti hindu party. its not difficult to understand whaat they do and why they do it.

You seem to be a excessively anti congress . In reality the congress just bungled up the whole approach to China and could not come up with a coherent strategy to deal with China .

Nehru cozyed upto China hoping that he would not have to militarily face this huge power. But could not bring himself to not give asylum to the Dalai lama as not giving so would have meant abandoning him to the tender mercies of the dragon.

I seriously can't comment on NDA-1s Pakistan love because in 2013, neither had I voting rights, nor was I interested in politics/affairs of the nation. But, what I say very clearly that this isn't the first Pathankot style watershed moment the Chinese gave Modi, they did it in earlier in 2017, Doklam. He should have got the memo then.

Sure, I can agree that it'll take time to indegenise weapon industry. But, what sticks in my craw is that these same missiles could have been bought from Russia far earlier. We already got a thorny situation vis-a-vis Pakistan last year. We could have even got to Russia as late as May! What would you have done if Russia refused to sell these? Run to US and France for missiles that might not have been integrated yet for Russian fighters?

I agree that the political classes should show desperation rather than military. But I also know that the military is being tied and kept in a dark room by them. They could have stopped the Chinese long ago, but the political class wouldn't allow it.

Its not too hard to understand how these things happen. Democracies like us are rather interesting. Our laws are free enough to give protection to private property yet not afford same protection of public properties. Consider any road. It is made with too many corners cut. There are no practical penalties of damaging it because everything happens by law. And no repairs are made to it till there is an election or "someone" is visiting that locality. Why do you think military infra will be any better? It shows. Criminal abandon is what ails our everything public.

In China, government can easily capture your property and shoot you dead with a placard round your neck calling you a traitor. Then to add insult to injury, they can even charge your family for the bullet. It has happened before. Corruption happens in China but only with the blessings of party. In things that matter to party, there is no chance of any negligence or procrastination. Chinese military is actually Party's military. No wonder it gets the prompt treatment.

nehru thought he was statesman of the world and India a role model. We were the experimental bakras for him. He was less practical and more ideological, he was still stuck in colonial era of fighting for freedom instead of saving country's *censored*. For a guy who had so much historical knowledge about a country which was ravaged by invaders in the west , colonized by the british failed to see the chinese as they are. He was not street smart per se but more of a scholar good with knowledge.

You seem to be a excessively anti congress .

As if its completely immoral and a sin to to do that.

glad you at least agree they are bunglers. As far as their anti india agenda is concerned, their strategy is completely coherent.

Nehru cozyed upto China hoping that he would not have to militarily face this huge power. But could not bring himself to not give asylum to the Dalai lama as not giving so would have meant abandoning him to the tender mercies of the dragon.

Nehru was infact against india having any army at all. He gave away all tibet citizens to the tender mercies of the dragon. Dalai lama was allowed to take refuge in India so fang tha anti India feelings in China even more.

Either hindsight is 20/20 OR Nehru was more concerned about his image than anything else. He wanted to prove himself as a world class statesman. Not too different from his shadow, Krishnamenon. The so called "peacemaker" of yore.

Ironically, he died with a shattered image. So did Krishnamenon. Even more ironically, we have a PM who seems to follow the same path -- Keeping his political image alive even for one more day. Even at the cost of strategic interests of the nation. Perhaps it is fitting that he has to bet on his images and PR that goes around it in all elections and beyond. What is painful is to watch India's strategic interests being squandered away for these folk's images.

Truely, vanity is Devil's favourite sin.

Mao was from a wealthy peasant family. Nehru and Krishnamenon were UK educated royalties. Mao was a rural guy grounded in realities who learnt politics. Nehru and Krishnamenon inheritted politics but perhaps never learnt the bitter realities.
No wonder, Mao knew power flows from the barrel of the gun while Nehru wanted it to flow from gatherings and committees.

He was a self centred deluded fool who took the country as his personal fiefdom.
He was nothing but a parasite

Million times better people like Patel Bose got shunted out to accommodate the fool who was better as a street side playboy than anything else

And rest is history

We got what we deserved

After all these years only a anti national or a narcissistic or both will defend nehru , have no doubts on that

Nehru hid his inferiority complex by imitating and wearing a white man's habit and cloak. nehru aped the british in demeaning Indians by creating a false and an imaginary ego. Using this mental mask, he thought he is playing the right way in his dealings with the british. In the end neither could he serve India as an Indian nor he could rule India with a borrowed ego of a white man. nehru was the biggest buffoon one can ever imagine.

both killed ppl in one way or the other, but they took hard choices even though some of them out rightly foolish/extreme. Next generation were spared the extremes as the prev gen took the hit. While we keep postponing it to the next gen all the time.

Open opposition to Chinese occupation of tibet would have meant huge military expenditure that India could not afford just immediately after independence. But ditching the Dalai lama was something that any indian could not bring himself to do.
The Chinese were poorer than us. We had well oiled army , western equipments, experienced world war 2 era generals yeah but let blame on "we can't afford" , shockingly WW2 ravaged China could afford

Both Neheru and Gandhi had megalomania. These two did the highest level of deception: they deceived themselves into thinking all they preached.

I find no justification of giving away land. Like wtf, was India sparsely populated back then? Would we not have needed that land?

Basically they thought of themselves as Kings of the new Kingdom.
