Come on, its America, the founding father of capitalism. The reason why they they want to sell weapons to us is because we can buy them. They are not going to give us freebies now are they ?
I remember reading an American think tank report about Indo-US nuclear agreement that detailed the great push by US defence manufacturers for the nuclear deal. Why ? well in the words of a former head of Boeing "For the first time ever India can actually afford to buy American weapons". Remember how we opened up the economy in 1991 and economy expanded rapidly ? this is why the US arms industry was interested.

Now it's in their hands to control the damage so some sort of deal in exchange we forget what trump said

At best we might get some diplomatic support. Don't keep high expectation from the US.

Chabahar will kept running , worry about Gwadar man , Balochis arent happy there , attacks will only increase and if act against the Iranians then expect more attacks on your vital port

Imran Khan Lying About ISI's Knowledge About Osama Bin Laden: Former CIA Director

• Petraeus said that during counter-insurgency campaigns, Pakistani authorities could never close in on North Wazirstan where terror outfits such as the Haqqani network, al-Qaeda and others had their headquarters and some of their forces

Former CIA Director Gen David Petraeus has said that he is "convinced" that the Pakistani intelligence agencies did not know Osama bin Laden was in Pakistan, countering Prime Minister Imran Khan's claims that the ISI provided a lead to the CIA that helped the US track down and kill the al-Qaeda chief in 2011.

Prime Minister Khan's statement on Osama during an interview with Fox News on July 22 was significant as Pakistan had so far denied that it had any information about the hideout of the al-Qaeda chief before he was killed in a covert raid by a US Navy SEAL team in the garrison city of Abbottabad.

Petraeus, during an interactive session at the Indian Consulate in New York on July 23 following his address on the topic of the Indo-Pacific, however, asserted the US is convinced that the Pakistani intelligence was not aware that the terrorist leader was hiding in their country.​

"We are quite convinced that the ISI, Pakistani intelligence, no one else knew that he (Osama) was there (in Pakistan). They were not harbouring him or hiding him or anything like that. We have very good insights on that. We probably differ with those who said that the Pakistanis were allowing him to live in that particular compound in Abbottabad," he said.

Petraeus said that during counter-insurgency campaigns, Pakistani authorities could never close in on North Wazirstan where terror outfits such as the Haqqani network, al-Qaeda and others had their headquarters and some of their forces.​

He added that the US learnt later on that Osama was not in that area but near the Pakistan Military Academy in Abbottabad. "I figured out later that I had probably flown right over his compound in a helicopter as I went to address the cadets at the military academy one time," he said, referring to the Pakistan Military Academy.

Petraeus, a partner in the international investment firm KKR and Chairman of the KKR Global Institute, was the special guest for the 'New India Lecture' series organised by the Consulate General of India, New York in partnership with the US India Strategic Partnership Forum.​

Petraeus said he hopes Khan will be able to deal with the challenges of his country, where the economy is "very distorted" and where the "realities of the situation are really quiet difficult."

Poliovirus detected in samples taken from seven Karachi localities

Seven samples collected from sewages in different localities in Karachi tested positive for poliovirus on Wednesday.

The areas from where the samples were collected include Sohrab Goth, Gadap Town, Hijrat Colony, Saddar, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), Haji Mureed Goth and Liaquatabad.

It is pertinent to mention here that the anti-polio campaign in the country has been facing serious impediments as more and more cases are reported every other day, raising questions over the quality and effectiveness of vaccinations being provided to children.

Pakistan is among the only three countries where the crippling disease still has a stronghold; the other two being Afghanistan and Nigeria.

While Pakistani health officials report that only a dozen cases were reported in 2018 as compared to the 306 cases in 2014 and more than 350,000 in 1988, concerned officials are reviewing their approach toward polio eradication.

It may be mentioned here that polio health workers are routinely met with aggression and in some cases, violence.

In October, the Independent Monitoring Board, which oversees the global polio eradication effort, wrote in its annual report that there was “something seriously wrong with the programme in Pakistan”.

In April, fuelled by rumours on social media that children were being poisoned by the vaccinations, mobs rioted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing at least three polio workers.
