the only end-user agreement is to allow US inspection twice a year and house them in specific airbases if I am not wrong.

But the article talks of increased monitoring.

But you are right, with or without monitoring, it doesn't really matter. With their economic state flying more CAPs would be a consuming prospect, a situation we should look to exploit.

The CSF fund USA is releasing is around 250$ million. That will get them only 8 new f16 (as earlier) at max. But considering they are low on spares They wouldn't go for new jets instead replenish their spares for now. Other than that they don't have money to buy any new equipment.

This is not CSF, worth only 125 million

This is some TST , ie Technical Support Team , some contractors - 60 odd to oversee the Current project

Maybe they will use the other 125 mil somewhere else. Like say the dam. Crowdfunding is going nowhere.

He is a politician who makes statement when his easy going babus who have never seen a front and just handled files, advise him to speak. The reality it , Government of India is full of such Kabaad who have no talent nor zeal nor zest to do something maverick.
I don't want to mention this but the civilian body in ministries handling security inki phati parhdi rehti hai. They have developed the habit of luxory and comfort.

Our generation in government service has not seen any war. Kargil was only limited to border areas, unlike those who have seen 1962, 1965, 1971 when pakistani fighters were flying over Delhi Agra, Ambala, Srinagar, Jaisalmair and sirens were blowing and people running in bunkers dig for civilian population.

Well the Americans pay the Pakistanis to kill their soldiers in Afghanistan, so this is along the expected lines. No other solution than indegenisation for us.
Not one nation has become a great nation with out making stuff. Beg, borrow, steal will only get you so far. Thankfully we have chosen a harder yet more fruitful path.
I do think the Americans are over playing their hand with us in the trade drama. However given the weakness of our domestic aviation industry this was to be expected.
