Islamic Republic of Pakistan : News, Discussions & Updates

It's actually the other way around. Congress always went soft on them. Bjp internationally screwed Pakistan more than their advantage of scoring local points.
The reason Congress went soft on them, is because Dawood company and ISI has a lot of dirt on Congress and even links with them Hawala etc. in some cases it goes back to Rajiv and Benazir Bhutto era and present Aman ki Tamasha guys who are part of Congress Working committe, do you ever wonder why Congress people are welcomed in Pakistan and get to dine on Kebabs listen to ghazals etc. ? Why Congress always talks of Aman ki Tamasha, despite repeated provocations is because of the evidence they have against it.
If Congress ever went hard on Pakistan, it will reveal the secrets of Congress and that will result in death stroke for Congress, that is the reason despite after 26/11 India didn't initiate a attack on Pakistan even though USA and rest of the world were backing India. Instead they tried to mask it as RSS ki Saazish. Then tried to give it a Hindu terror color to placate the Islamic terrorists bombings.

Review: This new mobile game by the Pakistan Army lets you take part in a military operation in Swat - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

It's funny the army has to go so low of making video games to stay relevant in the public eyes
Using a "Unreal Engine" Which is free and teaches you how to build a fps or RPG game from scratch even a Novice would build a better AI and game than this. The NPC(nopn player characters) are simply standing in one place, that too in some places they seem to be floating in mid air, these kind of games were ok during the 90's and 2000's but sub standard nowadays.

Iran cuts off electricity supply to Balochistan’s Makran division

QUETTA - For 15 years, Iran supplied electricity to Balochistan’s Makran division. Protests have broken out in the division as the country has cut off the supply due to its own power crisis.*

On Monday, the people of Gwadar, Kech and Panjgur had to make do without electricity from 10am until 12 in the night. The power cuts have worsened the water crisis in the area. The demand for ice has also gone up in the hot weather.

The power supply company, Qesco, says that they have been facing difficulty in supplying electricity for 12 hours to the Makran division since Iran cut off the supply. The utility’s spokesperson said they have taken up the issue with Iranian authorities to come up with a permanent solution.

In September 2003, Pakistan entered into an agreement with Iran for power supply to Balochistan. Iran supplied 35 megawatts daily between 2003 and 2013. In former CM Dr Abdul Malik’s tenure, the amount was increased from 35 megawatt to 100 megawatt.

Iran has now suspended the supply due to the country’s own power crisis.

ANP leader Haroon Bilour, 12 others martyred in Peshawar suicide blast
(As I had predicted, political leaders are being openly killed now. ANP is mainly a Pashtun party with presence in FATA,Balochistan and KPK.It's leader Achakzai is accused of being "anti-national/anti-army" )

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour and 12 others were martyred and nearly three dozens injured in a suicide bomb attack targeting an ANP rally in a congested neighbourhood of Peshawar shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
The blast occurred near the vehicle of Bilour, son of the late ANP leader Bashir Bilour, in the Yakatoot area. The casualties were driven to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where medics confirmed the death toll.

ANP supporters gathered outside the hospital and shouted slogans against the government for its failure to provide security to their leader.

Bashir Bilour, the father of Haroon Bilour, was also martyred in a suicide bombing targeting his rally in the fabled Qissa Khawani bazaar of Peshawar in December 2012. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had claimed responsibility for that attack.

Condemning the attack, ANP’s senior leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain said it was aimed at derailing the democratic system in the country. “It is a conspiracy to delay the upcoming general elections,” he added.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Muhammad Raza also denounced the attack. “This shows the weakness of our security institutions and a conspiracy against transparent elections,” he said in a statement.

The deadly bombing came a day after the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) warned that almost all leading politicians belonging to almost all mainstream political parties are facing serious security threats.

'No direct(only indirect!) role of army in July 25 elections,' DG ISPR tells Senate committee

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Thursday, reiterating his stance from a press conference held earlier this month, rejected the notion that the security forces have any direct role in how the July 25 elections will unfold.

Speaking at the special session of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, DG ISPR clarified that the army personnel are only following the Election Commission of Pakistan's instructions.

"There were some rumours that army personnel had been issued 'different' orders — this is completely baseless," he said. "We do not have any link with the elections; we are only working on the election commission's directives to improve the law and order situation. We do not have a direct role in polls."

Maj Gen Ghafoor then elaborated the election duty assigned to army personnel, saying: "The armed forces have always lent support to civil institutions. The security situation is being improved in the entire country to hold elections.

"Three hundred and seventy one thousand army soldiers will be deployed at the countrywide polling stations. The army is also performing its duty at the printing press [for ballots]."

Army's top command should rein in spy agencies: Islamabad High Court judge

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui on Wednesday criticised the alleged interference of the country's intelligence agencies in the affairs of the judiciary, media and the executive, warning that such an intrusion may eventually lead to a "big loss".

Justice Siddiqui, who is the senior puisne judge of the IHC, made the observations while wrapping up a case concerning two missing brothers who were allegedly disappeared by a spy agency.

The judge is currently facing a trial in a reference on misconduct moved in the Supreme Judicial Council on the complaint by a retired employee of the Capital Development Authority for alleged refurbishment of official residence beyond entitlement.

Foreign exchange: SBP's reserves fall to alarming level after 4.4% decline

KARACHI: In a worrying development for Pakistan, foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank plunged a massive 4.39% on a weekly basis, according to data released on Thursday.
The alarming level, which has now hit a four-year low, raises concerns over the country’s ability to finance a hefty import bill and meet debt obligations in coming months. Already it has forced the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) hand at letting the rupee go on four separate occasions since December 2017,
