Dubai official humiliates Pakistani community; asks UAE citizens to not employ them

Doha: A senior Dubai police official has launched a vitriolic attack on Pakistani citizens through his official Twitter handle.

Head of General Security for Dubai, Dhahi Khalfan, is not new to making controversial comments and is known for shooting off his mouth by making irresponsible statements.

Immediately after the blockade on Qatar started in June, Khalfan had admitted that they had set off the crisis with Qatar to withdraw the 2022 world cup from Qatar.

This time he has trained his guns on Pakistani citizens with his poisonous tweets and generalizing a whole community for the mistakes of few.

The statements were posted onhis official Twitter accountafter the Dubai authorities arrested a gang of Pakistanis for smuggling drugs.

"The Pakistanis pose a serious threat to the Gulf communities because they bring drugs to our countries," he posted.

Khalfan posted many demeaning and humiliating messages against the Pakistanis, one of the biggest expatriate communities in the Gulf region with many of them holding senior posts in many corporations and also running leading business houses.

Khalfan even went to the extent of advising UAE nationals to not employ Pakistanis, who have deep historic relation with the region through cultural and religious ties.

He continued to post statements filled with malice and bitter criticism of Pakistanis.

"We have seen the Pakistanis do great harm to our Gulf communities,” and also ask “Why Indians are disciplined? While sedition, criminality and smuggling in the Pakistani community are rampant.”

This sharp attack by Khalfan of the Pakistanis was preceded by a lot of news indicating a rupture in Saudi-UAE relations with Pakistan. The US Wall Street Journal revealed that Saudi Arabia had abandoned Pakistan's

support and succumbed to US pressure and voted to include Islamabad on a terrorism financing list, despite Islamabad sending 1,000 troops to the Kingdom to protect the country, as revealed by the British website “Middle East Eye".
You should also see the amount of verbal abuse he is getting on his twitter handle from Pakistanis and Saudis who support Pakistanis :D

More foreign loans only way to sustain reserves: Pak MOS for Finance

The government plans to take commercial loans and in addition it has sent requests to friendly countries to place more deposits in the State Bank of Pakistan, according to sources in the Ministry of Finance. Friendly countries have already placed $1.7 billion as deposits with the central bank under currency swap arrangements, which are part of the $11.8 billion gross official reserves.

In its latest report, the IMF said that Pakistan’s net official foreign currency reserves were negative $724 million as of mid-February. It has estimated Pakistan’s gross financing requirements at $24.5 billion for this fiscal year.

Rana Afzal defended high debt levels and said that the government did not have an option but to borrow to run its affairs. He said that high spending on security was also the reason behind the growing debt burden.

Proof that in Pakistan,Army is above all

ISLAMABAD: The top court upheld on Tuesday a Lahore High Court (LHC) decision outlining that there could not be court martial of a military official over non-disclosure of financial assets.

According to the facts of the case, Gill was an army officer, who was tried by field general court martial (FGCM) on three charges relating to the money matters and fourth charge was relating to the improperly filing of his tax return for the year 1996.97 by declaring his salary as a sole source of income, knowing well that he had income from other sources as well.

He was found guilty in four charges on August 13, 1999. However the competent authority did not confirm the finding on three charges and sent the matter to the army chief, who maintained the order of his dismissal.

UN terror list has 139 Pakistan entries

WASHINGTON: The United Nations Security Council’s consolidated list of terrorist individuals and entities includes 139 entries from Pakistan.

The list — updated and accessed on Tuesday — identifies all those individuals who have lived in Pakistan, operated from there or have been associated with groups that used Pakistani territory for carrying out their operations, from Al Qaeda’s Ayman al-Zawahiri to known Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) activists.

The list also includes Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, an Indian national who, according to the UN Security Council, has held several Pakistani passports issued in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The UN claims that he owns a “palatial bungalow in the hilly area of Noorabad, Karachi”.

The bench; however, observed that the military court has no jurisdiction to remove any official on the basis of non-disclosure of assets.
Nawaz Government has taken more than twice loans in their 5 years than the whole history of Pakistan. At the start of their tenure Pakistan only had 40 Billion USD foreign loan. Now after five years its about to reach 100 Billion USD.

Hence , given current trends , it'd be safe to assume in another 5 years your debts would balloon to 250 billion USD accounting for CPEC debts too.

Dubai’s Head Of General Security attacks Pakistanis with racist tweets

byUAE Viral 3 days ago

Dhahi Khalfan, Lieutenant General and Head Of General Security in Dubai, has unleashed a wave of racist remarks on Twitter in which he attacks Pakistanis.

These tweets came right after the Dubai authorities arrested a gang of Pakistanis for smuggling drugs. It seems the Dubai official has taken a stand to hold all Pakistanis worldwide responsible for the gang’s actions.

On April 1st, Dhahi Khalfan posted a tweet of a photo of the three Pakistani nationals along with the drugs they have been caught smuggling with a comment stating that:“Pakistanis pose a dangerous threat to gulf societies as a result of the drugs they bring in to our countries. We must impose strict procedures at the entrances [of our countries].”

“We became strict with the Bengalis because of the criminal tendencies they have shown. Pakistanis must be placed under an increased level of inspection”

Browing his daily twitter feed, you can find several more attacks such as attacks on Qatar or the President of Turkey. It seems whenever ties with a specific country are deteriorating, Dhahi Khalfan has a habit of adding fire to the flame with verbal twitter attacks.

His attacks on Pakistanis could possibly be further than the recent drug bust and may be a reaction to the fact that Saudi Arabia voted to include Islamabad on a terrorism financing list.

It is worrying the way his attacks compare Pakistanis to Bengalis, knowing that Bengalis find it impossible nowadays to get work visas in the UAE, and for the two to be compared, it may signal a new movement towards similar sanctions.

Not his fault completely, you have to look at the economic situation in the world before analyzing your govt's work. The world economy is not growing hence it affects developed world which in turn slows down the developing countries, in fact the govt has bought some time for Pakistan according to me.

Pakistan should be thankful that this govt approached some non-IMF sources for foreign funds and some of them actually helped as friends, and gave your economy 2 extra years to bring some radical reform in economy.

Pakistanis pose a threat to Gulf communities, says Dubai security chief

A top Emirati security official, known for making controversy-catching remarks on wide-ranging issues, took to Twitter to denounce Pakistanis, accusing them of being a "dangerous threat to Gulf societies".

In his recent diatribe on April 1, Lt Gen Dhahi Khalfan, who is the head of general security of Dubai, wrote in Arabic: "The Pakistanis pose a serious threat to the Gulf communities for the drugs they bring with them to our countries."

The tweet, followed by a series of similar attacks targeting Pakistanis, came in the backdrop of a drug racket being busted in Dubai. The tweet was also carrying a photo apparently showing three Pakistani smugglers, along with the drugs allegedly recovered from them.

No government data is readily available to show that Pakistani citizens have been involved in certain crimes in UAE more than immigrants belonging to other countries.

Khalfan resorted to generalising, however, asking his fellow citizens "not to employ Pakistanis". The security official, who was the head of Dubai Police Force until 2013, termed it a "national duty to stop hiring Pakistanis”.

In continuation of his diatribe, the official went on to make sweeping comparisons between Pakistanis and their arch rival Indians.

“Why are the Indians disciplined while disruption, crime, and smuggling are prevalent in the Pakistani community?” he wrote, according to uaeviral.com.

Dragging people from Bangladesh into the verbal assault, Khalfan suggested that Pakistanis should be subjected to increased inspection, similar to what Bangladeshis had to face "because of the criminal tendencies".

When I was in Muscat & Dubai , there was another peculiar trend I noticed . Pakistani Punjabis bringing up Islam every now & then particularly when they came across Indian Muslims and Bangladeshis. I've seen quite a few of them debate the Arabs as well .Nothing irks an Arab more than when a non Arab Muslim tries to get down teaching them the tenets of Islam .

The best part is a technician in Dubai from the company I was in , who had the temerity to "instruct " an Arab - a SHEIKH , in his home about how to offer Salat. A complaint went to the Kafil & within 24 hours , the offending Pakistani was on a flight back to Lahore.

Chinese workers thrash policemen in Khanewal
Sajjad Akbar ShahApril 04, 2018

Chinese engineers and other staffers, engaged in the construction of M4 Motorway from Bahawalpur to Faisalabad, attacked policemen deployed for their security after the foreign workers were barred from leaving their camp's premises without a security squad, DawnNewsTVreported.

Several mobile phone clips doing rounds on social media show Chinese nationals approaching the police officials in a provocative manner and attacking them. A video showed a Chinese national standing on the bonnet of a police van, another video showed several Chinese nationals trashing policemen and some local people in plain clothes.

According to police officials, Chinese engineers and other officials wanted to leave their camp in Khanewal and visit a "redlight" area on Tuesday night. However, they resorted to agitation when denied permission to leave the camp without being accompanied by security officials.

Later, the Chinese engineers also cut power supply to the police camp established within the main construction camp, the officials added.

On Wednesday morning, the Chinese workers stopped work on the project and abandoned heavy machinery and vehicles on various roads in the area. They also resorted to violence and attacked police in their camp.

Subsequently, the protesting Chinese engineers wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, claiming that police officials refrained them from discharging their duties and attacked them.

They also accused the security in charge of attempting to hit Chinese workers with his vehicle. Police officials, however, rejected the accusations and termed them fictitious and fabricated.

Later in the day, Khaewal DPO Rizwan Omer Gondal held a meeting with the protesting Chinese workers following which they agreed to open the blocked roads.

Meanwhile, the police officials made it clear before the Chinese engineers that they will not be allowed to leave their camp without security arrangements.

It was not the first time when Chinese nationals in Pakistan attacked local police. In 2016, a clash occurred between the police and Chinese workers as the latter insisted on staying at a construction camp at night, but the former opposed the idea due to security reasons.

According to media reports, citing sources, some Chinese nationals associated with the Chinese army and trained in martial arts had attacked and injured police personnel deployed for their security.

However, the police had avoided taking any legal action against the Chinese to avert further conflict. In fact, the then CPO had suspended three SHOs and six other policemen for not restraining themselves from a clash.
