These are all probably for rig testing. Tbh I do not know much about how test phases are planned or which test follow before actual flight tests happen. These are technical matters after all. But we continue to see hints of one proto unit getting ready from visuals.Means prototype is done and readying for first flight?
DAS, I'm guessing stands for 'defensive aids sub system' and not 'distributed aperture system'? Can't be sure though because Mk2 is/will be a testbed for proving a lot of the tech that will make its way into AMCA in future.Would be very useful if someone knowledgeable could read the entire NTFC work scope and explain point by point here. Thank you very much
One possible point below I guess is NP5 acting as a pseudo proto for Mk2 systems, and given system LRU commonality probably future TEDBF AMCA etc too ?

Nope, just the data acquisition system, part of sensor systems trial means data collection. IAF desperately needs Mk2 ASAP. Tejas Mk2 and Astra will outclass anything porks have currently.HAL expects the first flight of the MK2 early next year and a certification timeline of 3 years (2029). Production should start in 2030-31.

Believe or not, but they were looking to buy J-36 until China refused. However, they will most definitely procure J-35 by the end of this decade and KAAN in the next-decade. They might even increase J-10CE's numbers in their servicee. MK2 in huge numbers is required to serve as our future backbone and their J-10 counter.IAF desperately needs Mk2 ASAP. We will need AMCA & Su-57 to dominate their 5th gens though.

I admire their confidence. @LX1111 dear comrade it seems your ally wants J36 please do give it to them, we will see whether it is capable of withstanding a hangar collapsing on it lol.kaan will be expensive for poorkies,Believe or not, but they were looking to buy J-36 until China refused.
