LCA Tejas Mk1 & Mk1A - News and discussions

Bahrain, Malaysia, Dubai.... We have been alone. Maybe this time we will have neighbour company in Changi.

No way , JF 17 is sluggish

Cant climb vertically

See its earlier videos

All it can do is Claim to have AESA

But then other aspects will be immediately compared by "Embedded Journalists " , such as Composite Materials and Engine
Low speed Sharp Turns and Recovery

Even the Cockpit of LCA is much better now

Chinese Avionics are Not better than Israeli Radar

JF 17 is for poor countries

Any coustomer will ask for its capabilities right? Mostly African, Latin American or South East Asian Nations. And a ATGM is a primary weapon of an attack chopper.
Is it necessary they'd go in with our weapons ? Let's begin with showcasing the platform. After all when LCA started participation in foreign air shows we didn't parade it with the Astra or SAAW or Rudram did we ? I'm sure we still don't.

LCA had R73, Derby and guided bombs with litening pod. Basics covered.

Other ATGMs would still require to be integrated. We are lacking big time here.
SANT is ready but can be used only from Mi25 for now.
And HELINA order for Rudra fleet has yet to be placed.

I think you're putting the cart before the horse here . While a weapons platform would definitely be an added attraction , you're making it's availability contingent to participation in such shows which isn't the case at all or at least shouldn't be the case.

LCH is for our own Requirements

So we have made it Light

Even Chinese Helicopters have an Advantage because their Engines are Their Own

Apaches and Mi 28s are the Real Stars in Combat Helicopter space

I think you'd be unpleasantly surprised by the Turkish helicopter program & the clients + interest shown in their ATAK-1 hptr . Do check in on it .

Ofcourse participation is possible. But a deliverable system will generate interest with an intent of procurement.

They have had a lot of backing from European vendors.

Imagine US giving a go ahead to Bell to share full design of Cobra Gunship and also work on an improvement with India for LCH. The result would have been different.

Further European manufacturers like Airbus and AW both are already licensing their modern helicopters to a lot of nations Brazil, SK, etc and then helping them develop something based on their existing design.

South Korean Surion Heli and AW help to Turkey is a prominent example.

Being a NATO member helped Turkey a lot.

The question to be asked is why would European copter manufacturers be assisting Turkey ? What's in it for them ? How does it profit them from creating a competitor ?
