LCA Tejas Mk1 & Mk1A - News and discussions

The Navy's decision to import fighter aircraft saw the conversion of the LCA-N into a navy supported technology demonstrator. The ADA project team has used the two prototype aircraft as technology demonstrators to master the two most complex technologies- landing and taking off from a deck less than 200 metres long.

The project team says that while they have mastered take-off, they are yet to perfect landing the LCA using its arrestor hook which explains the new round of tests in Goa.

Officials at the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), the DRDO-organisation that runs the project say if they meet all project, the technology demonstrator project can be closed by the year-end.
Naval LCA prototype moves for final phase of shore-based trials

I was saying this for a long time, N-LCA is a TD project. IN publicly said they do not expect it to enter production. It will be closed soon.

MWF will have terrain avoid capabilities ?

Mirage was to Balakot because of that right ..
Why haven't IAF asked for it in MWF ?

Yeah, I'm referring to the naval version.

The LCA/MWF's wingspan is small enough that folding wings is unnecessary. Even Rafale does not have folding wings.
Is the NLCA Mk2 going to ever feature on Aircraft Carriers? When has the IN made such a requisition? Isn't this requirement more geared towards patrolling the coastline given the futuristic duties IN is supposed to execute on the high seas & the coast line replacing the IAF?

Buggers asking for all the bells like thick canopy and all.. Why did they miss in Mk1 & 1A?

Going to be used purely as point defense?

Mk1/A is primarily meant for point defence and light strike. It will do what the Mig-21 does.

MWF is a full fledged multirole fighter.
