Indian Army don't consider informing public or taking them into confidence as necessary thing, something institutional. In my interaction with few I asked it and they don't seem to care. This leads to misinformation and panic in public. I don't know the reason but I believe that Indian youth can be a great asset if they educate them and use them as per need. Maybe someday after repeated goof ups they will realize.

Poor performance by IA on the LAC puts an incentive to hide things..
Of course Rajiv Gandhi's regime was good. IG was preparing to permanently solve the Paxtan issue in the mid 80's when she was assassinated. In comes clueless Pappu Sr. Not only does he develop cold feet over Israeli plans asking for Indian collaboration to attack N facilities in Paxtan, he also vetoes Gen Sundarji's plan to expand the envelope of Op Brasstacks into Paxtan, prevent it from going nuclear & permanently dismember it . He further unilaterally calls for Indian troops maintaining the status quo during the Sumdurong Chu / Walong incident on his first visit to China further limiting the IA's room to manoeuvre.
Gen Krishna Rao prepared the initial plan of Op Falcon under which we were supposed to construct roads , new highways, bridges etc to the LAC - a plan that IG wanted to implement by the mid 90's before she was assassinated & something that Pappu Sr ignored & something that was dusted off by UPA -1 . If we compete the entire network of roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, etc by the mid 20's , it'd be a full 30 years after it was due to be completed.
Most of the problems we faced with respect to internal security, the economy, foreign affairs & the defense owes itself to the regime of Ra Ga Sr. The TT & RJB issue, the Delhi riots in 1984 & the explosion of terrorism in the Punjab , the rigged elections in 1987 in J&K & subsequent terrorism there , the profligate spending & debt accumulated during his regime which blew up during Chandrashekhar's tenure as the PM where he had to pledge India's sovereign gold to get a loan from IMF. PVNR & MMS 1991 reforms also owe itself to what transpired in our economy during RaGa's years as PM .
The Bofors scam so damaged the credibility of the MoD & himself that for the next 30 years neither did we develop artillery systems for the IA nor did we import any.
I could go on.... But trust I've made it clear why Paxtanis love Pappu Sr & Jr.

People taking dig at Rajnath Singh should look at his track record, he maybe the only HM ever in India who completed 5yrs without any riot or major security lapse anywhere, more so in contrast to present HM.
He is soft spoken, almost captivate people when in flow, I have seen hit job reporters getting mesmerized when he responds to their vile attacks but he prepares well, under estimate him at your own.

China violated all border agreements. If India has some self respect, GOI will withdraw from all border agreements with China, with immediate effect..

If true, very bad decision from GoI. This will give confidence to Chinese to repeat such actions in future.
Sadly, Indian casualties in the violent clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Vally region are more than the three (Colonel, JCO, jawan) confirmed earlier...many were grievously injured in the brawl...

4n time both patrols of both countries joined in there was a virtual stampede. This was compounded by the fact the initial deaths meant there was absolutely no backing down for either side. In the end reinforcements were called up. The fight blew up to about 200-300 men.

It seems that something far worse has happened than what is being spread around. The IA just can't finalise its statement to be issued and we are having series of meetings just to decide on the draft of the statement.
If this happens , i will lose all the respect for Modi. He has some wierd festish for China. We are all tigers against Pakistan but a meowing cat against China.
