I think change of power in US would have embolden china to take some action in near future. Biden is not Trump and is not expected to be hard on china compared to trump. Next 6 months will be critical.

So China is giving joint statements hinting talks are going well. And yet they are carefully managing public opinion on their side to show India as the aggressor.

Yep. The Chinese have only vacated areas where they were at a severe disadvantage.
I don't think we will, but China will if they feel they are at an advantage. If not, it will continue to be a stalemate unless either side can breakthrough.
