Prasun Sengupta informs that on night of August 29/30, India also launched an operation in the Depsang Plains, which stopped when the Chinese fired warning tracers. It is not known if this was a real op or a feint.

There were similar engagements in multiple locations, it was reported by Indian news channels apparantly back then, I remember reading about it from news anchors.
I am opposed to daily firefight. Soldier has a dignity, courage, moral and nationalistic zeal, but soldiers also have families. Do think about them when you ask for daily firefight. I know the feeling, hence stating that.

In 1962 , the incidents were similar. Small firefights with claims and counter claims , and India convinced that it would all be local like on the western sector .
The Chinese had been planning for 3 years and after building a narrative of Indian inflexibility, launched their major attacks.
Many might not know that though fighting was in many sectors , our substantial reserves were still in middle India when hostilities stopped.
Our indecisiveness is well documented in 1962, with the airforce not being involved.
Many of the old issues persist, biggest being living on hope rather than preparation.
Incase of serious conflict, India should be the one with the over reaction, not the victim complaining about Chinese perfidy.

The Chinese should not be allowed to seize the Initiative
They will withdraw only when their Casualties rise above a certain number

This is what happened on LoC where Pakistan had the initiative and our troops were on " Gaurd Duty "
After having done what needed to be done, India is officially likely to deny any provocative action by its troops along the LAC. My educated guess: Anything done by Indian troops was in self-defence, would be the official stance. Using the Chinese playbook against China!

The nature of the action itself is not clear yet.
If only warning shots were fired to deter the Chinese from doing another Galwan, this is good news, but not a very big event for two countries in a conflict. After reading this from multiple sources attached above, I am getting the feeling that it is being blown out of proportion by the Chinese to gain sympathy.
We should wait for our official version of what happened before jumping to conclusions.
