INDIAN ARMY OGRANISED CAPACITY BUILDING TOUR FOR CHILDREN OF MAWER VALLEY* Naugam, J&K


A Capacity Building Tour from Naugam to Srinagar for 50 girls and 50 boys from villages of Mawer valley organized under the aegis of TMG Bde on 30 Sep 18.The tour was flagged off at 0830hrs from Naugam. During journey to Srinagar first halt was observed at Baramula wherein the participants was served snacks.

ARMY ESTABLISHES WATER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR VILLAGE AT TOPA TOP Bagga, 30 Sep 18.

In relentless efforts to alleviate the day to day problems of the population residing in far flung areas of the state, Indian Army installed a water supply project for the local populace of Topa Top in Reasi district. The project was completed in a month’s time on 30 Sep 18.

INTER SCHOOL KHO- KHO COMPETITION AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL NAUGAM

Inter School Girls Kho-kho competition was organized by Army Goodwill School Naugam from 27 Sep to 01 Oct 18 .Total of six teams from various schools of the area participated in the competition.

The final was keenly contested match won by Army Goodwill School Naugam with the margin of 12 points

MEASLES AND RUBELLA VACCINATION CAMPAIGN AT ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL. NAUGAM, J&K - 06 Oct 18.

As part of *WHO'S SE Asia region resolution to eliminate Measles and control Rubella Syndrome (CSR) by 2020,* Govt of India is conducting a Measles and Rubella vaccination campaign in a phased manner targeting children in a age group of 09 month to less than 15 years.
As part of this campaign TMG Brigade organized Measles and Rubella vaccination campaign at Army Goodwill School, Naugam on 06 Oct 18 in collaboration with SDH, Langate.
A total of 149 students from AGS, Naugam including 109 boys and 40 girls* were vaccinated by a team of doctors and six health workers from SDH, Langate.

ARMY CONDUCTS QUIZ COMPETITION AT GHS, SANGIOT, RAJOURI, J&K - 09 Oct 18.

To encourage the students of remote areas in Rajouri District to study and be updated on the current affairs, Indian Army organised a Quiz Competition at Govt High School, Sangiot in Rajouri District.
Large numbers of students participated in the competition which was categorized into current affairs, general knowledge, science & technology and identifying the personality rounds.

ARMY ORGANISES MEDICAL AND VET CAMP FOR VILLAGE RESHWARI AND POTHWARI, NAUGAM, J&K - 07 Oct 18.

In order to address growing medical needs of the locals in the region of Reshwari and Pothwati a Med and Vet camp was organized on 07 Oct 18 by TMG Brigade. The camp was aimed at providing basic medical and Vet facilities to the locals of region.
A total of 200 Patients and Animals were benefited from this camp

ARMY CONDUCTED CARROM AND CHESS COMPETITION AT DANDIHALA, Reasi, J&K - 09 Oct 18.

With an aim to bring in communal harmony and to inculcate sportsman spirit amongst the students of Reasi District, a Carrom and Chess competition was organised at Danidhala by Indian Army. The competition saw whole hearted participation from the school students.

ARMY ORGANISES DEBATE COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS AT BUDHAL Samote, J&K - 08 Oct 18.


In an endeavor to motivate the students of rural areas, build their confidence and facilitate their talent, Indian Army organised a Debate Competition for students of government schools at Budhal, Rajouri.
170 students participated in the competition from 18 schools of the adjoining areas of Budhal. Three groups were formed for this competition based on their classes and schools. The encouraging part was the participation of 58 girl students in the competition. The theme for the competition was ‘Truth and Non-Violence’. The students took part in the competition with enthusiasm and showcased their talent. Students were felicitated suitably.
The competition was witnessed by more than 350 locals, SHO Budhal along with headmasters of Government Higher Secondary School Buhdal and other opinion makers of various villages. They expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for organising such events to boost the morale of the students, encourage talent and provide impetus in fostering brotherhood

ARMY ORGANISES MEDICAL CAMP FOR BORDER AREA VILLAGES Sunderbani, J&K - 08 Oct 18.

Indian Army conducted a Medical Camp at the border villages of Tanda Kangri in Sunderbani sub Division aimed to ameliorate medical needs of the region. Tanda Kangri is a border village with a large population of Ex servicemen and migratory population of Bakarwals during the winter season. Assistance in terms of a medical camp to cater for medical needs of villagers and Bakarwals of the region was sought for which the medical camp was organised.

ARMY ORGANISES DRAWING AND PAINTING COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS at Bagga, J&K -12 Oct 18.

In the ongoing bid to foster harmony and talent amongst the youth, Indian Army organised a Drawing and Painting Competition on the theme “Swachh Bharat” on 12 Oct at Asthanamarg. A total of 47 students participated with vigor and unbridled enthusiasm.

ARMY ORGANISES COACHING CLASSES FOR PREPARATION OF SAINIK SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM 2019
Bagga, J&K - 12 Oct 18.
In order to provide an impetus to students in the region, Indian Army has started coaching classes for preparation of Sainik School Entrance Exam 2019 at Dharmari, Gulabgarh and Bagga. The coaching classes commenced on 24 Sep 2018 and will be conducted for shortlisted students upto 31 December 2018

INDIAN ARMY ORGANISES CARROM BOARD COMPETITION AT CHERJI REGION, Kishtwar, J&K - 12 Oct 18.
Continuing the effort of nurturing indoor games talent of youth and to encourage the young minds of the district to participate in constructive activities, Indian Army organized Carrom Board Competition at Cherji region of Kishtwar district. The youth played with immeasurable joy, enthusiasm and happiness. A total of 44 students participated in the competition.

“Sair-E-Hind” a Capacity Building Tour for Persons of Poonch District to Ajmer, Jaipur and Agra, conducted by Indian Army was flagged in at Rajouri. The tour was aimed at giving exposure to the persons to rich historical, religious and cultural heritage of our country and foster brotherhood, harmony and unity in diversity.

ARMY ORGANISES LECTURE ON BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO Danweth, Pora, Kokernag, J&K Oct 2018.

On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child and to generate awareness about the importance of girl child and their education, the Army organised a lecture on "Beti Bachhao Beti Padhao" at Govt High School, Danweth Pora, Kokernag on 11 October 2018. During the lecture, the issue of inequality prevailing in the society was highlighted and the need to save the girl child to overcome the imbalance was also addressed. The gathering was also made aware about the various initiatives and welfare services for women undertaken by the Government and were guided on how to utilise these schemes for their benefit and empowerment.

ARMY ORGANISES LACHHIPURA VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE, J&K from 10 Oct to 16 Oct 2018.

Lachhipura Battalion inaugurated Lachhipura Volleyball League for the local youth on 10 Oct 2018. The event is scheduled to be conducted from 10 Oct to 16 Oct 2018. The tournament is set to be conducted under senior and junior categories. A total of 18 teams from local villages of Lachhipura, Bijhama, Bagna and Islamabad are participating in the tournament with full vigour & enthusiasm.

ARMY CONDUCTED PIR PANJAL KABADDI LEAGUE Doda, J&K -12 Oct 18.
Indian Army organised Pir Panjal Kabaddi League 2018 at Sports Stadium, Doda in close coordination with Jammu & Kashmir Police, Health Department, District Sports Authorities and civil administration. The grand event was zealously contested from 08 - 11 Oct 2018 which captivated & enthralled the people of Doda for four days while engaging a large number of youth.

Indian Army organised an Employment and Entrepreneurship seminar for Unemployed Youths at Town Hall, Banihal, J&K - 12 SEP 2018
Food Craft Institute (FCI) and Apollo Med Skills (under Himayat) participated during the seminar and counselling lectures were organised by them. Mr Prince Naik of FCI and Mr Arsalan of Apollo Med Skills conducted the counselling lectures and explained the youth various opportunities available with them.

ARMY ORGANISES ANNUAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT BATTALION, BARAMULLA, J&K - 14 OCT 2018.

As part of its untiring and unceasing efforts to integrate the local youth with the mainstream and to enhearten the sporting culture in the valley. "Darangbal Premier League, Baramulla" was conducted by the Local Rashtriya Rifles of Himalayan Brigade under the aegis of Dagger Division. The tournanent participation of 08 teams from Khadniyar, Jalsheeri and Drangbal of Baramulla district.
