The launcher has 2 more missiles loaded. Dummy missiles?
The fact that our indigenous all-weather turbofan engine (Manik) is now in flying perfectly is a positive development.View attachment 33065
Do these people have the memory of a goldfish? They have been testing ITCM for 4 years. The main purpose of ITCM is to validate the Manik engine.
Another urgent development of a stealth cruise missile like Storm Shadow/Scalp is required. I hope DRDO is working seriously on this. The engine was almost flawless itself ie working condition wise. The failed test where th missile fell off in the sea, there was a problem with the liner so the engine ignition did not start hence right after booster burnout the article fell down in the sea. Some defect which for the QT batch was not spotted, had that been the acceptance testing sample it would have been spotted and sent for fixing/rejected. From the video today its quite clear to imagine what had happened in that failed test case, you can construct the days event bit by bit easily.
LRLACM arde order for the pcb assy which Ameya precision engg got order for is also set to be completed by April 2024. Its probably already delivered as dev orders are completed much ahead of time 1-2 months at least. So overall there is good progress.
It was antiship which due to its ability , our forces adopted to land attack/multi use precision strike version. Now while this is practical approach ie more mission-centric where the success of mission is paramount compared to saturation strike, cruise missile like this can still not provide the large punch that a BM delivers to a much longer range.Brahmos is the most expensive cruise missile. We should be able to make 2-3 LRLACM at the cost of one brahmos.
Per BDL production opportunity not before FY 2027-28 , that is if the project is not closed due to not meeting deadline (by June 2025).I'm really getting tired of this useless celebration of tests without anything to show for. It's been 3-4 years of ITCM testing and development. What's the point of this if you can't produce usable products from it? After what 15 years of development its still a technology demonstrator.
Where are LRLACM, ALCM, or SLCM? I bet none of these will go into bulk production this decade.
Few days ago there was news of DRDO given approval for our desi Storm Shadow equivalent:Another urgent development of a stealth cruise missile like Storm Shadow/Scalp is required. I hope DRDO is working seriously on this.
Its ID-RW article without references. Please avoid those.Few days ago there was news of DRDO given approval for our desi Storm Shadow equivalent:

See, RD&E can only afford to maintain one launcher during project phase. All expenses are from project fund only and launcher is their scope hence the expenses and manpower are too. They deliver to ADE. ADE in turn is responsible for you know what. STFE and its delivery to ADE is GTRE scope. Full trial mission under ADE scope. In the end all labs face the auditors and CAG hehe.If one looks closely at the launch video of ITCM. The name Nirbhay was written on the missiles and it was also using the same launcher as OG Nirbhay and now the LRLACM is also using the same launcher.
