Yes, even I was shocked when I had food in Kerala in 2016. It was not so when I was posted there as an IN Officer in 1986 and 1989. They offered me beef and when i refused, they looked at me as if I was from someother planet.

Beef and pork is normal in kerala..... No one raises a eye brow..... Most of these markets have them together......not a big deal
One Q for you- are IN facilities and shipyards adequately protected and prepared for any misadventure by these tangos? Im sure the NIA and IB would have eyes and ears on the ground but the IN assets are some of our most valuable there.
But I found lots of Nairs and Menons who were serving in CAPF in Kerala as I had travelled by rail to Kannur and they seemed very alive to the muslim threat.
I also saw lots of guys from NE India whom I suspected to be Rohingyas as they did not understand Hindi at all and even their Keralite masters were speaking to them in broken Hindi. When I spoke to them, they were speaking broken Hindi in Bengali accent which was a clear give away of them being Rohingyas.
I went to one of the posh malls of Kannur for food with my family and saw beef and pork on menu. It was being served openly and tons of muslim women in Burka. They even had saudi dishes on menu.
Most likely Bangladeshis. Lots of them settled in Kerala. They normally marry amongst themselves or to the SCs in Kerala . They're there to stay.
Most keralites don't know about Mopplah violance, and those who do know are taught to believe that it was a workers vs land owners fight. Media propaganda and lack of coverage is responsible for this misinformed population.
This is why I said these Hindus need a shock treatment. That is why I said don't pity north keralite hindus. They don't deserve it. The nairs and menons you met must be from south kerala or mid kerala (ernakulam, kochi, etc). They are sane.
Where did you see them?? Yes they living in areas where muslims exists. And use them for crime and quotation gangs, etc. And also cheap labour.
Seriously, beef, chicken and pork will stay in Kerala. People are too accustomed to it. Muslims don't care about people eating pork here and Hindus don't care about beef.
Mind you when people say beef in kerala, it is almost always Buffalo meat and not cow meat. We are brought up to not eat cow meant, and very rarely there are some adventurous guys who are total foodies and try different things like rabbit, etc who eat cows (but very very rare). Eating cows is frowned upon generally. But buffalo, not so much.
And BJP should stop talking about it in Kerala, people will just mock you and think you are funny. You cannot change this trait in kerala. Better get used to it. It is a gone case, no matter how much I believe in asserting national culture over any foreign assertions like beef eating and such, but it is a done deed. No point making it into an issue.
You'll get beef and pork in every nook and corner in Kerala. There is no marriage, etc function without beef in the menu. Hell I know of a namboodiri temple pujari who eats beef and toddy and goes to do puja work in temple the next day.

Nairs and menons and some nmboodiris are the only ones you will ever find voicing such things. But even in their community, they are considered a rare species.
I don't think they sell pork in muslim run hotels. And I think you will see less of that in muslim dominated areas. but generally, you will see a relaxed attitude to the whole issue. To answer your question, they might frown upon you, that is all.
In Kannur in the hotel I was staying in with my family. And my wife was aghast with it all. Beef on the menu and being served thru a balti. Most Keralites take rice and take more helpings of the sambhar or equivalent liquid stuff. So that is supplied thru the Balti.
South Indian politics is irrelevant to rest of India. They have different world and for their actions rest of the India has to pay. Example, LTTE problem, risk of sabotage to IN due to jehadis turned commies in Kerala. Foreign Policy with Malaysia and Singapore in turmoil due to Madrasi fake arrogance. Jehadis breeding in Hyedrabad due to Telugu briyani and Reddy politics.

That is how it is served in whole Kerala, from north to south Kerala including in RSS stronghold South Kerala. You will see it is standard norm even in weddings and all functions. Including Hindu weddings (because christians and muslims might also be invited).

There are people like me too. You see we can fix the situation if we have right wing media channels. We got only one for now - Janam TV. It is all caused because of lack of information.
I have found the theory of Dravidians being original Indians and North Indians being invaders most acceptable in south India. Even the Tamils believe this shit. Only saving grace are Telagus and Kannadigas, But even in south Andhra and South Kannad, we have people who believe in this North-South divide. They are more into the people who speak their language than the religion and the Nation itself.
