Providing a further boost to the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Government of India in the Defence Sector, the Acquisition Wing of the Ministry of Defence has today signed a contract for Rs. 1075 crore with M/s Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the retro-modification of Commander Sight of Battle Tanks-T-90. The retro-modification will be carried out in 957 T-90 tanks of the Indian Army.

Commander sight of Battle Tank T-90, India’s premier battle tank, is presently fitted with Image Converter (IC) tube-based sight for night viewing. Based on the requirement projected by the Indian Army, DRDO and BEL have jointly designed and developed an advanced Mid Wave Thermal Image (MWIR) based sight as a replacement for the existing IC-based sight.

The new retro-modified Commander sight employs a thermal imager capable of detecting the targets at 8 Kms during day and night and a Laser Ranger Finder (LRF) to find the ranges accurately up to 5 Kms, thereby enhancing its capability to engage target at longer ranges. With the corrections from ballistic software and LRF, the Commander of T-90 can detect, engage and neutralize the targets with phenomenal accuracy. The indigenously developed sight completed extensive evaluations under field conditions successfully.

The successful indigenous development of Thermal Imager based Commander Sight will provide further fillip to indigenous R&D and defence manufacturing.

I said many times before this, Tank is a concept from the past. A decent attack helicopter, well trained infantry with modern anti tanki missiles can knock down any Tank in world. Yeas trophy like systems may be effective against missiles, but does the cost of such tank justifies the utilities in battlefield?

Yes, because fighter and ADS can protect the tank. Advanced APS will give it protection as well.

Russia isn't really using their tanks under optimal conditions. It's a zerg rush rn.

Armour and Infantry have to move together

Infantry is armed with Mortars , ATGMs and Manpads

Mechanised Infantry is the key

And in India Pakistan Situation , we wont be sending in troops 80 KM inside , we dont want their territory

First objective of war will be grab asmn as possible & bring enemy to he negotiating table. Iti easy to gab plain land than hilly terrain.

All things are a force multiplier, but Ruski sending their armor columns without support from recce helicopters and attack heli is treacherous.

There are vehicles getting lost inside cities, what a joke this is. And they had 8 years to prepare for this invasion.

And in India Pakistan Situation, we won't be sending in troops 80 KM inside, we don't want their territory

We will invade the chicken neck area, and the Sialkot sector to cut supply lines to Gilgit and invade that.

But even from Indian PoV, this ruski invasion is total FUBAR.

We will invade the chicken neck area, and the Sialkot sector to cut supply lines to Gilgit and invade that.

Deliberately misled and misguide Putin , so as to make him look like a Failed president

Now when coffins go back and protests start his position will become much worse

This is exactly the thing Which XI Jinping wants to avoid , because a conflict with India means
Thousands of Dead Chinese soldiers

Both Success and Failure are on Putin

West wants to Remove Putin
So they will help Ukraine to kill maximum number of Russian soldiers

Dont blame others & conspiracy to justify your failure, "Russian generals wants putin's image to go down and the planned this", why you are even trying this propoganda on a foreign leader? I have seen such gimmicks soon after Chinese invasion.

FYI, there is no democracy in China so they don't need to bothered about death toll. On the other hand, we do have democracy. Now make a conclusion,who might have avoided armed clash in fear of death toll & followed image destruction??/
