Thank god, atleast this fellow is aware about how vulnerable is our Tank fleets now.
They are still not protected from ballistic missiles , we should get each T-90 with a PAD system attached for extra protection.
Protection suits evolve as per new threats. Its a reactionary measure based on immediate & obvious demand. Army will do something to counter the threat of Tb2 now those are right on the border area. We don't fight many war or export stuff so these things take time compared to western or russian industry, especially as we only just started making proper weapons ourselves.

125mm FSAPDS Mk-II is not listed here. Did it enter production yet?
Avadi is still rolling out with the older style ERA. Have orders been placed for ERA MK2?
Need to develop or import relikt era and also add cage armour and side skirt armour. Also need to license produce t-90m's and aps. Atleast a 500-1billion investment to upgrade the entire fleet with new armour and bring it too at least karrar or t-72b3m standard.
New built T72/90 is a waste of money. Instead of putting money on Light Tank which will have Armour protection less than BMP 2, we should have sent ahead to develop a sub 50 ton tank with proper Armour.

That engine could also allow for better mobilty of T72s in the high altitude areas. I just hope we utilise the full potential.

ERA MK2 which is basically K5 but better metallurgy of plates, conventional ERAs are only capable of defeating shaped-charge jets, MK2 can also defeat APFSDS rounds. Because of MK2, long-rod penetrators can lose over +30% of their penetration potential and the protected vehicle becomes immune to them.
It is believed that while protected by Kontakt-5 ERA or MK2, MBTs cannot be penetrated across the frontal arc by the M256 guns firing M829A1 APFSDS ammo. In addition, thanks to their heavier (15 mm hard steel) front plate, the ERA elements are harder to trigger by the precursor charges of tandem warheads, forcing the producers of tandem ATGMs to allocate more mass to precursor charge and, making an MBT more resistant to tandem HEAT warheads, as well.
It is very important to note that while light ERA containers are completely destroyed in the process of detonation, Kontakt-5 or MK2 sections are not, as their detonation is contained by the outside armor plates. Therefore even after detonation Kontakt-5 or MK2 sections continue to provide some applique protection.

Meanwhile Indian 125mm MK2 APFSDS Has More Penetration Than Imported Russian Mangoes.
