Nothwitstanding the initial losses the Russians had in the north of Avdiivka, their offensive is proceeding. The UAF has 20000 troops in the region, and the Russians are aiming to encircle most of the region and then force a withdrawal. This loss could be bigger than Bakhmut for the Ukrainians. And it will lift the pressure on Donetsk City.

Things will get even more serious from then on, with the push towards retaking the rest of the Donbas.

There are more videos of Russian FPV drones taking out Leopard 6 came out in the last few days. It's crazy how disproportionate loss these FPV drones are causing.

Nope. Look at the stats. Russia started at 17.960% a week ago, they went back down to 17.958% and then back to 17.960% but the Ukrainian figure (frontline position) is unchanged as 7.181%. Russians move into the grey zone between the frontlines, get a55-raped, then withdraw, and now have moved back in for another a55-raping.

Yeah, the Russians do really have more peons than the Ukrainians have bullets.

Russia can afford these losses in the short term. In the long term, though?

You do realize they are gonna add a substantially large population and land mass, right? And most of them are well educated and extremely productive living in rich lands. Whereas the losses the Russians are mainly facing are within the Storm-Z units, all pulled from prisons and given inferior and cheap equipment to drive around in, like that pre-WW2 truck you were mocking earlier. At the same time, they are retaining the core strength of their main army.

Otoh, Ukraine's losses are much greater and they are losing quality individuals, along with prime land and a significant part of their population. Now even women are entering the casualty list. At least 100 have been killed and 500 injured and these are official figures from Ukraine, hence severely underestimated. Ukraine has recruited 42000 women, and 5000 are at the front line.

Explosion of the arsenal of the military unit A-1358 of Ukraine in the Khmelnitsky region. Russian kamikaze drones "Geran" attacked a military warehouse of the 47th Arsenal of the Ukrainian Army on the territory of military unit A-1358. The military arsenal is located on the outskirts of the village of Tsvetokha in the Slavuta district of the Khmelnitsky region. There are no reports of damage or deaths.

Population? No. They got some population during the initial blitzkrieg phase, but since this phase was over, all Russian territory gain has been after the complete, total, utter annihilation of everything. They gained 0 population from gaining Lysychansk or Bakhmut, they'll gain 0 population from Avdiivka. They only gain ruins that are full of mines.

Land mass, yes, they do get that. It's true that it's the one thing Russia lacks; nobody takes Russia seriously because of how small Russia's landmass is...

Yes, the losses are much greater to Ukraine because the fight is happening on Ukrainian soil, and Russia is not just killing troops but also civilians. Russian thugs happily rape and torture civilians, including children.

I do not see how this is a reason to support Russia.

Actually that's their job. A stormtrooper unit is largely expected to die with 90% casualties, many times 100%. In Ukraine, they are being used to set the battlefield for the follow-on offensive.
:ROFLMAO:
Both them and the follow on offensive have died several times over since the beginning of October with nothing to show for it.

The population is going to *censored*ing leave as soon as they can unless Putin wants to recreate the Berlin Wall in the Donbass. They have already risked their lives to do so in many cases, only the war and martial law is stopping them.

Even Russian sources have leaked out that this is simply not the case. Ukraine is now firing more artillery than Russia, and more of it is guided too. This Russian offensive will amount to nothing and the next Ukrainian offensive will come with twice the force due to the shortcomings of the last one.

Speaking of women on the frontline, Russia is starting to resort to this, too:

Russian morale holds up -- but only thanks to constant repression and torture of their own troops.

And if you think it's only the prisoners who are sent to their death, wrong! It's also regular troops and mobilized. Even specialists! Makes no difference to Russian commanders. Meat is meat.

As you may remember, a few days ago, one of the Russian war reporters admitted that Russia had already lost in the Avdiivka assault more than Ukraine had lost near Robotyne in months.

They will return. Regardless of their land mass, the land they are fighting for is prime real estate.

'Cause there's no real difference between the Russians and the West. If we simply bring up body count alone, the US beats Russia by a wide margin, including children.

Just saving ammo since there wasn't an offensive going on back then. Just preparation time.

No, it shows tanks in todays war ( exactly speaking after first gulfwar of 91) is equivalent to cavalry forces of WW1. Outdated, but everybody wants to keep it.

What would you use instead of a tank though? Just have people rushing across the field instead?
