Ukraine - Russia Conflict

you are still here posting , who is going to load the shells?

Automated loading. :p
Did you guys notice the changed tone of Zelensky? This war is progressing exactly like what I had predicted. The RA is now doing hooks and pincer to defeat UA which is the strategy in urban warfare. UA is running away and deserting positions the moment RA starts the pincer after a breakthru.

They have been pushing for talks ever since the Severo buildup began. I suppose Popasna has created major impression on the Ukrainians.

I that why their GDP is set to fall 12.4% and they have 23% inflation even with 14% interest rates? They do not have the means to pay for what they are doing.

Seriously, grow up. You think the handful of -stans in the EEU is going to make up for the EU? They will find buyers but only at lower prices. If the interest rates are high enough you will find investors to buy your bonds, but then you will have higher interest payments to make and are more likely to get in more debt.

The ethnic Russian population is nowhere near as big as you make out. And not all of them are even on board with Russia.

Europe has its own wheat, I walked through 4 huge fields of it personally yesterday. People will leave Russian-occupied territory, just like they do with Russia. The USSR didn't build a wall to keep people out, it was to keep people in.

And if Turkey doesn't let Russian ships through the Bosporus, Russia will have to stick its wheat up its arrse.

Sanctions effect. It's how quickly they boune back up that determines whether they have strong fundamentals or not.

Once they get richer, the -stans will become important.

The Russian population in Ukraine is pretty big.

Lol, if that's the extent of your knowledge on agriculture, then forget it.

It won't be Russia that will harangue Turkey though.

How do you know?

Mi-17 has been on hold for years. Look at the date yourself:

Ka-31 has been on hold since Covid. It only restarted in Feb this year. It apparently is only stuck due to payment issues. Since the war began, all new contracts with Russia have been on hold. Even the MKI upgrade.

They've already signed an agreement to leave those issues behind.

Oh, they have an "agreement" with Russia.... Ohhhhhhhh! A paper agreement no less! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ukraine's shopping list, number 3 represents interesting possibilities.

If all they wanted was this much, they could have bought most of it back in 2015. They could have built the ground units themselves too.

I would hope that a democracy would have the common sense not to side with two larger dictatorships anyway. The only role India could play in such a relationship is 'lunch'.

That's not how realipolitik works. If it did, then the US wouldn't be changing regimes in democracies and propping up autocracies.

It's funny because it's true. It also sucks because it makes you realize that Europe pretty much needs the US to take the lead in a European affair. If US were to go isolationist before this war started all of Eastern Ukraine and southern would be under occupation while European nations would be infighting with each other with nations that want to help and nations that want nothing to do with. It's only because of US taking the lead that Europe is confronting Russia.

How sad and pathetic.

I think the Brits would try to fill the US void but it would likely fail and it would be them with a couple of nations giving Ukraine weapons.

And who in the first place brought Europe in confrontation with Russia?

Rusdi will not show any discrimination against india while they engaging quad alongside with china.
Russia is a desperate state. They don't have any choice. Any deal will be happily taken by them. They are for all matters and purposes a prostitute.

Explains why the US comes out on top.

And that's probably what France and Germany are thinking right now. In just one move, the US practially bought Europe. And, hell, Europe is the one paying them.
Explain why didn't Russia come up during 2019 & while US rushed towards us.

Russia understands India better than the nosy Americans.

You are yet to understand the relationship dynamics.

India is friends with the US and Russia, and enemies with China. The US is friends with India, and enemies with Russia and China. Russia is friends with India and China, and enemies with the US. China is friends with Russia, and enemies with the US and India.

There is no need for Russia to come running to India's aid simply because we don't want it. And we also asked the Americans to leave too. Our official policy is any Sino-India issue is a bilateral issue and other powers need not interfere. We follow the same policy with all other countries. You could say that the American interference made things worse for us, not better.

Basically we don't want idiot countries coming to our "rescue" like we are some damsel in distress. This is something the Russians understand, whereas the American move was an embarassment for us.

We are neither American allies nor Russian allies. The Americans like to call us allies, but we are not. We merely have some common interests here and there. This is also something Russia understands. India is its own side.

Lastly, you need to realise that whatever the Russians are doing in Ukraine or what China is expected to do in Taiwan and all its resulting consequences, like sanctions, all of it is applicable to India too. Even we have neighbours we may go to war with and invite crippling sanctions. Why else do you think Modi immediately pushed forward with the Atmanirbharta initiative in Jan? We can very, very quickly become rivals or enemies with the US. Otoh, we have no real friction points with Russia.

The first week of March was when we saw major evacuations of Indians. And it died down after news came out that most Indians were either evacuated or had at least reached safe zones.

But, to be fair, if the Chinese were on Twitter, they would have beaten us by a wide margin.

What's frighteningly accurate is the interest in the war is waning globally.
