They could never offer an attractive deal to their vassals, only threats and coercion. With the aggression of Ukraine, their utter failure to defend Armenia, and their absence of reaction to the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan skirmishes, the CSTO, the last instrument of Russian influence in their neighborhood, is basically dead.

And this is all their decisions that led to this.

And who owns the trade fleets? EU and China. Who owns the blue navies with global reach? US and EU. Russia is not a thalassocracy.

Shouldn't affect the Russians during peacetime.

Unless the US and EU decide to go to war, then they have the time. They will continue selling their resources to make money until then.

Their gas trade is bigger than all their non-fuel exports combined.

They lack the infrastructure. But they will still make money off the exorbitant costs of gas with reduced supplies.

First three categories are all basically 100% Western, and now they're gonna have to switch to 100% Chinese.

India can provide quite a bit of those three categories, we simply were not competitive in their market compared to the Chinese.

We can provide them nuclear tech too. India is already a sanctioned pariah state. And how much more will Russia get sanctioned?

Even that 100k figure is fake. The original UAF has pretty much ceased to exist. Most of the equipment they started with was destroyed by June-July.

It's very easy to balkanise India due to the large amount of fissure points within our society. It's one of our biggest weaknesses. In a decade or so, every other day we will have to deal with some independence referendum or the other which will all be funded by outside powers. It can even increase the potential for terrorism.
