This about sums it up, Russia has been spouting this for over a year now.
When Africa starts starving it will be Russia's fault and Russia's fault only.
One take away from this counter-offensive is that Russia lost a lot of territory quickly last time but lost troops and military assets slowly, this time they're losing territory slowly but troops and assets much quicker and they will therefore lose more troops and assets for each square kilometre Ukraine liberates.
Yeah, they're trying to hold their ground and are always launching counter-attacks to try to reclaim lost ground as soon as they're pushed back. That's why their losses are so high. This succeeds in considerably slowing down the Ukrainian forces. But eventually, they'll have to declare another round of mogilization.
