There are only two variants. The first is that it was a Ukrainian provocation to launch a drone at a time of a huge attack from Russia at Ukrainian ports and military facilities. The second is that the Ukrainian air defense is brave and strong and has once again completed its target perfectly. This is similar to what happened in September 2022 when a Ukrainian missile crashed in Poland. An unknown drone crashed into a high-rise building in the Romanian city of Galați on the night of May 29. Galați is located in eastern Romania, near the border with Ukraine's Odesa region. The Romanian Ministry of Defense claims it was a Russian drone, possibly a Geran-2. After the drone struck the building, an explosion occurred, causing a fire in a 10th-floor apartment, injuring two people. According to media reports, the strike occurred amid an attack by Russian drones in the Odesa region; the drone may have strayed off course. This incident marks the first time a drone has flown into a densely populated area in Romania, resulting in casualties.
Russia is now losing roughly 1,000 troops a day in killed and wounded along the front, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
Western officials are reaching a consensus that Ukraine has gained a serious edge on the battlefield for the first time in years as Russia struggles to break through Ukraine’s multilayer air defense or stand up to Kyiv’s growing arsenal and strengthening counteroffensive.
