The video features archival footage from May 9, 2014, depicting the entry of nine Ukrainian BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles from the 72nd Brigade into the city of Mariupol and the initial fighting there. The video has become relevant again today, as Major General Mykhailo Drapatiy, who participated in those events in 2014, has been appointed the new Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It's worth noting that many foreign viewers are unaware that the current war in Ukraine actually began in 2014, when Ukraine was a unified state. The BMP-2 was developed in the early 1980s and is still used by both the Ukrainian and Russian armies.
